CFXE-FM
CFXE-FM is a Canadian radio station licensed to Edson, Alberta. Owned by Stingray Group, it broadcasts a country format branded as ''Real Country''. Alongside its main signal in Edson, the station maintains three rebroadcasters in northwestern Alberta; CFXH-FM in Hinton, CFXP-FM in Jasper, and CFXG-FM in Grande Cache. The station also maintains a satellite studio in Hinton, and broadcasts their afternoon show (12 Noon - 6PM) from Hinton. History CFXE signed on April 4, 1968, as CJYR on 970 kHz, with 10,000 watts power. In 2005, the station was bought by Newcap Broadcasting and was relaunched as ''The Fox''. In 2007, the station was moved to 94.3 MHz with 11,000 watts power. On September 29, 2010, the station received CRTC approval to move CFXE-FM's rebroadcast transmitter, CFXG (AM 1230) in Grande Cache, to the FM dial. Jasper, Alberta
Jasper is a specialized municipality and townsite in western Alberta within the Canadian Rockies. The townsite is in the Athabasca River valley and is the commercial centre of Jasper National Park. History Established in 1813, Jasper House was first a fur trade outpost of the North West Company, and later Hudson's Bay Company, on the York Factory Express trade route to what was then called "New Caledonia" (now British Columbia) and Fort Vancouver on the lower Columbia River. Jasper House was 35 km north of today's town of Jasper. Jasper Forest Park was established in 1907. Edson, Alberta
Edson is a town in west-central Alberta, Canada. It is located in Yellowhead County, west of Edmonton along the Yellowhead Highway and east of the intersection with Highway 47. History The town was founded as Heatherwood, but the name was changed around 1911 in honour of Edson Joseph Chamberlin, vice-president of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway. When Edson was declared the local rail centre, smaller communities such as Rosevear (abandoned), Wolf Creek, Carrot Creek and Niton Junction fell into a decline that continues today. Stingray Group Radio Stations
Stingrays are a group of sea rays, which are cartilaginous fish related to sharks.
