CFLAC
China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (''CFLAC'' ), established in July 1949, is a Chinese people's organization composed of nationwide associations of writers and artists. CFLAC is one of the founders of CPPCC ( Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference). CFLAC includes artist associations which are involved in such activities as academic studies and discussion, performances, exhibitions, and competitions. China Writers Association
China Writers Association or Chinese Writers Association (CWA, ) is a subordinate people's organization of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC). Founded in July 1949, the organization was initially named the China National Literature Workers Association. In September 1953, it was renamed the China Writers Association. The association's leadership was purged shortly after the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests and massacre. In April 2012, the organization changed its translated name to China Writers Association. It now has more than 9,000 registered members, with branch associations across the nation. The first CWA Chair was Mao Dun, under the leadership of the then CFLAC Chairman Guo Moruo. In 1985, Mao Dun was succeeded by Ba Jin. The incumbent Chair is Tie Ning since 2006. Mei Lanfang
Mei Lan (22 October 1894 – 8 August 1961), better known by his stage name Mei Lanfang, was a notable Peking opera artist in modern Chinese theater. Mei was known as "Queen of Peking Opera". Mei was exclusively known for his female lead roles (''dan'') and particularly his " verdant-robed girls" (''qingyi''), young or middle-aged women of grace and refinement. He was considered one of the "Four Great ''Dan''", along with Shang Xiaoyun, Cheng Yanqiu, and Xun Huisheng. Xu Guangping
Xu Guangping (, 1898 – 1968), her former name "Xu Chongqian" (), was a Chinese female writer, politician, and social activist. She was well known as the partner of Chinese writer Lu Xun. Biography Born in Guangzhou in a family of Great Qing official. In 1918 She entered Tianjin Zhili No.1 Normal School for Women. She was participated in the activities of the Tianjin Women's Patriotic Association and the Enlightenment Society during the May 4th Movement. After graduating in 1922, she was admitted to the Chinese Language Department of Peking Female High Normal College and became a student of Lu Xun, Xu Shoushang, and Yi Peiji. She was graduated in 1926. Xu publicly expressed her feelings for her teacher, Lu Xun, in the newspaper one year before graduation, and the couple lived together in Guangzhou in 1927, and then moved to Shanghai. Lao She
Shu Qingchun (3 February 189924 August 1966), known by his pen name Lao She, was a Chinese novelist and dramatist. He was one of the most significant figures of 20th-century Chinese literature, and is best known for his novel ''Rickshaw Boy'' and the play ''Teahouse'' (茶馆). He was of Manchu ethnicity, and his works are known especially for their vivid use of the Beijing dialect. Cai Chusheng
Cai Chusheng (January 12, 1906 – July 15, 1968) was a Cinema of China, Chinese film director of the pre-Communist era, and was the first Chinese director to win an international film award at the Moscow International Film Festival. Best known for his progressive output in the 1930s, Cai Chusheng was later severely persecuted and died during the Cultural Revolution. His ashes are kept at the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery in Beijing.
