CEB European Three-cushion Championship
The CEB European Three-cushion Championship is three-cushion billiards tournament organized by the Confédération Européenne de Billard. Held since 1932, it is one of longest-running tournaments in the sport. The 2007 event offered a total purse of €18,500 (US$26,134) with €4,000 ($5,651) for the winner. Before 1995, there was a third place match played between the two losing finalists, in order to determine the ranking. However, the match has been cancelled since then and the losing finalists are regarded as having the same ranking in the competition. Since the season 2012/13 the tournament was held in a mammoth event every two years in Brandenburg an der Havel, Germany. Dick Jaspers
Dingeman Jacobus Johannes "Dick" Jaspers (pronounced yas-pers) (born 23 July 1965) is a Dutch professional carom billiards player who specializes in the three-cushion event. Early life Jaspers started playing billiards when he was three years old in the pub his parents ran in his home town. Between 1974 and 1980 he participated in the Dutch Youth Championships before making the move to the senior level. In this period he got lessons from Andre Gulickx and Tony Schrauwen Professional career Jaspers became a professional billiard player in 1986 after seeing Raymond Ceulemans and Nobuaki Kobayashi on live television during their World Cup final in Valkenburg. Jaspers won two silver medals in the Dutch Championships 1986. In 1987 and 1989 he won the National Championship, and participated three times at the European Youth Championship. Tayfun Taşdemir (born November 5, 1975) is a world champion Turkish professional carom billiards player specialized in three-cushion event. Early years Tayfun Taşdemir was born in Muş, eastern Turkey on November 5, 1975. He graduated in Economics from Marmara University. Career He played three years for the Dutch team Twentevisie. After enjoying World team champion titles several times, Taşdemir finally won his first individual world-class level title at the 3rd leg of the 2015 Three-Cushion World Cup in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam defeating Torbjörn Blomdahl from Sweden in the final. He also won the 1st leg of the 2019 Three-Cushion World Cup in Antalya, Turkey defeating Cho Jae-ho.
