CCHA Best Goaltender
The CCHA Goaltender of the Year is an annual award given out at the conclusion of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) regular season to the best goaltender in the conference as voted by the coaches of each CCHA team. It was first presented in 2001, and continued to be presented every year thereafter until 2013 when the original CCHA was dissolved as a 2010–13 NCAA conference realignment#Ice hockey, consequence of the Big Ten Conference forming its men's ice hockey Athletic conference, conference. The award was revived along with the league starting in the 2021–22 season. The award was known as the "Best Goaltender" from 2005 to 2013. Only one player (Ryan Miller) received the award more than once, winning Goaltender of the Year in the first two years it was conferred. Central Collegiate Hockey Association
The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) is a college athletic conference that participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. The current CCHA began play in the 2021–22 season; a previous incarnation, which the current CCHA recognizes as part of its history, existed from 1971 to 2013. Half of its members are located in the state of Michigan, with additional members in Minnesota and Ohio. It has also had teams located in Alaska, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Nebraska over the course of its existence. The CCHA was disbanded after the 2012–13 season as the result of a conference realignment stemming from the Big Ten Conference (of which three CCHA schools; Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State, were primary members) choosing to sponsor Division I ice hockey beginning in the 2013–14 season. Dominic Vicari
Dominic Vicari (born October 30, 1984) is an American former professional ice hockey goaltender. Prior to turning professional, Vicari attended Michigan State University (MSU) where he played three seasons ( 2003 – 2006) of NCAA Men's Division I Ice Hockey with the Michigan State Spartans. In his freshman year, Vicari was recognized for his outstanding college hockey play when he was named to the 2003–04 CCHA All-Rookie First Team, and was also selected the CCHA Goaltender of the Year. Forgoing his final year of NCAA eligibility, Vicari signed with the Toledo Storm to play the 2006–07 season in the ECHL. Chad Johnson (ice Hockey)
Chad Terry Johnson (born June 10, 1986) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He most recently played for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected in the fifth round, 125th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Jeff Zatkoff
Jeff Zatkoff (born June 9, 1987) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently an unrestricted free agent who most recently played for the Straubing Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Playing career As a youth, Zatkoff played in the 2001 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the Detroit Little Caesars minor ice hockey team. College Zatkoff was drafted in the third round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, 74th overall, by the Los Angeles Kings after playing collegiately for the Miami University Redhawks. Notre Dame Fighting Irish Men's Ice Hockey
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish men's ice hockey team is the college ice hockey team of the University of Notre Dame, competing at the NCAA Division I level as an associate member of the Big Ten Conference. The Irish play their home games at Compton Family Ice Arena. The head coach of the Fighting Irish is Jeff Jackson, and his assistant coaches are Paul Pooley, Andy Slaggert, and Max Mobley. David Brown (born February 1, 1985, in Stoney Creek, Ontario) is a former professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently playing for the Stoney Creek Generals in the ACH. He most recently played for the Fife Flyers of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). Brown was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 8th round, 228th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Brown was originally drafted from the Kilty Bees. Miami RedHawks Men's Ice Hockey
The Miami RedHawks men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio. The RedHawks are a member of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC), starting play in the conference's 2013–14 inaugural season.
