CBSI-FM is a French-language Canadian radio station located in Sept-Îles, Quebec. Owned and operated by Société Radio-Canada, it broadcasts on 98.1 MHz with an effective radiated power of 96,700 watts ( class C) using an omnidirectional antenna. The station has an ad-free news/talk format and is part of the Ici Radio-Canada Première network, which operates across Canada. History Formerly established on December 12, 1976, as a rebroadcaster of Matane's CBGA, CBSI-FM was launched as a separate station in 1982. The station now has several rebroadcasters of its own throughout Quebec's Côte-Nord and in parts of Labrador. Ici Radio-Canada Première (formerly Première Chaîne) is a Canadian French language, French-language radio network, the news and information service of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (known as Société Radio-Canada in French), the Public broadcasting, public broadcaster of Canada. It is the French counterpart of CBC Radio One, the CBC's similar English-language radio network. The service is available across Canada, although not as widely as CBC Radio One. Only the provinces of Quebec and Ontario are served by more than one ''Première'' originating station. Effective Radiated Power
Effective radiated power (ERP), synonymous with equivalent radiated power, is an IEEE standardized definition of directional radio frequency (RF) power, such as that emitted by a radio transmitter. It is the total power in watts that would have to be radiated by a half-wave dipole antenna to give the same radiation intensity (signal strength or power flux density in watts per square meter) as the actual source antenna at a distant receiver located in the direction of the antenna's strongest beam (main lobe). Baie-Comeau (; 2021 city population 20,687; CA population 26,643) is a city located approximately north-east of Quebec City in the Côte-Nord region of the province of Quebec, Canada. It is located on the shores of the Saint Lawrence River near the mouth of the Manicouagan River, and is the seat of Manicouagan Regional County Municipality. Aguanish, Quebec
Aguanish is a municipality and village in the Côte-Nord region of the province of Quebec in Canada. In addition to Aguanish itself, the municipality also includes the community of L'Île-Michon, to the east along Route 138. Economic activity primarily centers on crab and salmon fishing. The place is named after the Goynish or Aguanus River, that flows through and drains into the Gulf of Saint Lawrence right at the village. Rimouski ( ) is a city in Quebec, Canada. Rimouski is located in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, at the mouth of the Rimouski River. It has a population of 48,935 (as of 2021). Rimouski is the site of Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR), the Cégep de Rimouski (which includes the Institut maritime du Québec) and the Music Conservatory. Quebec Route 138
Route 138 is a major highway in the Canadian province of Quebec, following the entire north shore of the Saint Lawrence River past Montreal to the temporary eastern terminus in Kegashka on the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. The western terminus is in Elgin, at the border with New York State south-west of Montreal (connecting with New York State Route 30 at the Trout River Border Crossing). Part of this highway is known as the '' Chemin du Roy'', or King's Highway, which is one of the oldest highways in Canada. It passes through the Montérégie, Lanaudière, Mauricie, Capitale-Nationale and Côte-Nord regions of Quebec.
