CBD-FM
CBD-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 91.3 MHz from Saint John, New Brunswick and is the local Radio One station of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. History CBD was launched on October 15, 1964 at 1110 AM. Prior to its launch, CBC Radio programming was aired on private affiliate CHSJ. A simulcast on 91.3 FM began on May 13, 1981 before the AM transmitter was shut down in September 1988. CBC Radio One
CBC Radio One is the English-language news and information radio network of the publicly owned Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. It is commercial-free and offers local and national programming. It is available on AM and FM to 98 percent of Canadians and overseas over the Internet, and through mobile apps. CBC Radio One is simulcast across Canada on Bell Satellite TV satellite channels 956 and 969, and Shaw Direct satellite channel 870. A modified version of Radio One, with local content replaced by additional airings of national programming, is available on Sirius XM channel 169. CHSJ-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 94.1 FM in Saint John, New Brunswick. The station plays a country format under the ''Country 94'' branding. CHSJ is owned by Acadia Broadcasting, which also owns sister station CHWV-FM. History Originally known as CFBO, CHSJ's first broadcast was at 890 AM in March 1928, under the ownership of C.A. Munro Limited. The current call letters were adopted in 1934 when four Saint John newspaper publishing shareholders — Howard P. Robinson, J.D. McKenna, T. F. Drummie and L. W. Bewick saw great potential for little CFBO and purchased it from Mr. C.A. Monro. After the sale CHSJ was owned by the Saint John Publishing Company. CBAT-DT (channel 4) is a CBC Television station in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. It has common ownership with Moncton-based Ici Radio-Canada Télé station CBAFT-DT (channel 11). CBAT-DT's studios are located on Regent Street and Vanier Highway in Fredericton, and its transmitter is located on Rice Hill. CBAT originally broadcast from a transmitter located on Mount Champlain near Saint John, its city of licence until 2011, and operated a network of rebroadcasters throughout the province. All-news radio is a radio format devoted entirely to the discussion and broadcast of news. All-news radio is available in both local and syndicated forms, and is carried on both major US satellite radio networks. The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC; french: Conseil de la radiodiffusion et des télécommunications canadiennes, links=) is a public organization in Canada with mandate as a regulatory agency for broadcasting and telecommunications. Grand Manan, New Brunswick
Grand Manan is a civil parish in Charlotte County, New Brunswick, Canada, comprising one village and one local service district (LSD), both of which are members of the Southwest New Brunswick Service Commission (SNBSC). The parish includes Grand Manan Island and numerous lesser islands, only one of which has permanent year-round inhabitants. Confusion is sometimes caused by other uses of the name: epenthesis of Grand Manan Island to Grand Manan; the village of Grand Manan; the census subdivision of Grand Manan Parish, which includes only White Head Island; and the assumption of an LSD with the name of Grand Manan, which never existed. CBCV-FM is a Canadian radio station, which broadcasts the programming of the CBC Radio One network in Victoria, British Columbia, and throughout Vancouver Island, the Southern Gulf Islands, and the Sunshine Coast. It also reaches out to parts of Washington north of Everett, but is harder to listen to because of KSER on 90.7. It was the most listened to radio station in the Victoria Market in the Fall 2018 Numeris Diary Survey. History The station was licensed by the CRTC in 1997, and was launched on September 28, 1998. Gary Mittelholtz
Gary Brian Mittelholtz (28 May 1954 – 13 March 2010) was a Canadian radio journalist, known foremost for his work with CBC Radio in New Brunswick. His radio reporting won him a gold prize at the Atlantic Journalism Awards. Mittelholtz was born in Toronto, Ontario where he received a Radio and Television Arts degree from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in 1977. His broadcasting career was entirely with CBC Radio first in Toronto where he began following graduation, then at Thompson, Manitoba, finally New Brunswick where he was based with CBC in Saint John. In April 2007, Mittelholtz began hiDoing Stuff Outdoorsblog and podcast.
