CBC Radio One is the English-language news and information radio network of the publicly owned Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. It is commercial-free and offers local and national programming. It is available on AM and FM to 98 percent of Canadians and overseas over the Internet, and through mobile apps. CBC Radio One is simulcast across Canada on Bell Satellite TV satellite channels 956 and 969, and Shaw Direct satellite channel 870. Nana Aba Duncan
Nana aba Duncan is a Ghanaian Canadians, Ghanaian Canadian writer, broadcaster, and academic. In 2021, she was appointed Carty Chair in Journalism, Diversity and Inclusion Studies at Carleton University’s Carleton School of Journalism, School of Journalism. From 2016 until 2020 she was host of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's Ontario weekend morning show ''Fresh Air''. She also hosts and produces the podcast Media Girlfriends. She went on leave from ''Fresh Air'' in the fall of 2020 in order to accept a position as a William Southam Journalism Fellow at Toronto’s Massey College. Biography Duncan was born in Accra, Ghana and raised in Newmarket, Ontario. A radio documentary is a spoken word radio format devoted to non-fiction narrative. It is broadcast on radio as well as distributed through media such as tape, CD, and podcast. A radio documentary, or feature, covers a topic in depth from one or more perspectives, often featuring interviews, commentary, and sound pictures. A radio feature may include original music compositions and creative sound design or can resemble traditional journalistic radio reporting, but covering an issue in greater depth.
