CAF Confederation Cup 2018
The 2018 CAF Confederation Cup (officially the 2018 Total CAF Confederation Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 15th edition of Africa's secondary club football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), under the current CAF Confederation Cup title after the merger of CAF Cup and African Cup Winners' Cup. Raja Casablanca won the title for the first time, defeating AS Vita Club in the final, and earned the right to play against the winners of the 2018 CAF Champions League in the 2019 CAF Super Cup. TP Mazembe were the two-time defending champions, but as they qualified for the 2018 CAF Champions League and reached the group stage, they were not able to defend their title. CAF 5-Year Ranking
The CAF 5-Year Ranking system is used by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to determine the number of clubs that each member association may enter its club football competitions; the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup. At present, those associations ranked in the top 12 may enter two teams into each of the two club competitions, while the remaining associations are limited to a single team in each competition. Origins Prior to 2004, CAF organized 3 club tournaments; the CAF Champions League, the African Cup Winners' Cup and the CAF Cup with each association allowed to enter a single team in each tournament. The Cup Winners' Cup and the CAF Cup merged to create the CAF Confederation Cup in 2004. The 2016–17 Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 (''Tunisian Professional League'') season was the 91st season of top-tier football in Tunisia. The competition started on 8 September 2016. The defending champions from the previous season are Étoile du Sahel. Teams A total of 16 teams will contest the league, including 13 sides from the 2015–16 season and three promoted from the 2015–16 Ligue 2. AS Gabès was the first to obtain promotion, followed by Olympique Béja and finally US Tataouine. The 2016–17 Egypt Cup was the 85th edition of the oldest recognised football tournament in Africa. It was sponsored by Obour Land, and known as the Obour Land Cup for sponsorship purposes. 294 clubs were accepted into the tournament, and it began with the first qualifying round on 14 October 2016, and concluded with the final on 15 August 2017.
