C. S. Sujatha
C. S. Sujatha (born 28 May 1965) is an Indian politician who was a MP of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. She represented the Mavelikkara constituency of Kerala. She is a member of CPI(M). Political career She became the District Panchayat President of Alappuzha in 1995 at the age of 29. She remained in the position until 2004. In 2004 Sujatha defeated Ramesh Chennithala by a margin of 7,414 votes in the Mavelikara constituency. Sujatha is the first CPI(M) candidate who has contested the elections in the party symbol to win from Mavelikara, which is considered to be a traditional UDF stronghold. She is also the first woman to represent Mavelikara in the Lok Sabha. She is now selected as CC Member of CPI(M). Alappuzha or Alleppey () is the administrative headquarters of Alappuzha district in States and territories of India, state of Kerala, India. The Kerala Backwaters, Backwaters of Alappuzha are one of the most popular tourist attractions in India which attracts millions of domestic and international tourists. The United Democratic Front (UDF) is the Indian National Congress-led alliance of centre to centre-left, and centre-right, political parties in the Indian state of Kerala. It is one of the two major political alliances in Kerala, the other being Communist Party of India (Marxist)-led Left Democratic Front, each of which has been in power alternately since 1980 E. K.
