C. M. Roberts
Charles M. Roberts (1866 – October 12, 1932) was an American politician who served in the first Arizona State Senate. Life Charles M. Roberts was born in Texas in 1866. His family moved to Colorado, and while there, he became interested in mining, gaining experience in the mines of Gunnison County, and near Leadville, among others. In the 1890s, Roberts brought a stake in the White and Billings mine, which he sold to the Dos Cabezas Consolidated Mines Company in 1900 for a sum in excess of $40,000. Shortly thereafter he acquired the rights to some copper mining properties in the Dragoon Mountains, known as the Holmes Group. In 1901, the Dos Cabezas group hired him as the superintendent for their mining operations. By the time of the writing of the Arizona Constitution, Roberts was one of the wealthiest men in the state, who in addition to his mining interests was also a cattleman. Cochise County () is a county in the southeastern corner of the U.S. state of Arizona. It is named after the Native American chief Cochise. The population was 125,447 at the 2020 census. The ''Tucson Citizen'' was a daily newspaper in Tucson, Arizona. It was founded by Richard C. McCormick with John Wasson as publisher and editor on October 15, 1870, as the ''Arizona Citizen''. When it ceased printing on May 16, 2009, the daily circulation was approximately 17,000, down from a high of 60,000 in the 1960s. The ''Herald Review'' is a newspaper printed in Sierra Vista, Arizona, United States. Most of its circulation goes to Sierra Vista, Huachuca City, Arizona, Huachuca City, Hereford, Arizona, Hereford, Palominas, Arizona, Palominas, and Fort Huachuca. It is also circulated in Bisbee, Arizona, Bisbee. History Ky Richards Jr. and his wife, Lois Richards, originally from Hawaii, started printing the ''Huachuca Herald'' on Fridays starting October 7, 1955. They put out the first editions on a typewriter, composing stories on their kitchen table. On October 8, 1967, the couple started printing the paper twice a week. World War I (28 July 1914 11 November 1918), often abbreviated as WWI, was one of the deadliest global conflicts in history.
