C. Loganathan
Chelliah Loganathan (19 September 1913 – 4 May 1981) was a Ceylon Tamil banker and the first Ceylonese general manager of the Bank of Ceylon. Early life and family Loganathan was born on 19 September 1913. He was the son of V. Chelliah and Pilawadi Thangamuthu Ammai from Puloly South near Point Pedro in northern Ceylon. He was educated at Victoria College, Chulipuram and Hartley College. He received higher education in Colombo and Bombay. Loganathan married Thilagavathy Ammai, daughter of C. Sivasithamparam. They had three sons (Sathananthan, Sritharan and Kethesh) and three daughters (Gowri, Vasuki and Lalitha). His son in Law A.Tharmaratnam served with the International Financial Corporation of the World Bank. The ''Daily News'' is an English-language newspaper in Sri Lanka. It is now published by the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (Lake House), a government-owned corporation. The newspaper commenced publishing on 3 January 1918. D. R. Wijewardena was its founder. The present-day newspaper is written as a broadsheet, with photographs printed both in color and black and white. Weekday printings include the main section, containing news on national affairs, international affairs, business, political analysis, sports, editorials and opinions. Every Thursday issue a free supplement in a tabloid paper called "Wisdom". In addition, the ''Daily News'' also provides ''The Sri Lanka Gazette'' as a supplement on every Friday. Mythili Raman
Mythili Raman is a Tamil American lawyer and the former acting Assistant Attorney General for the United States Department of Justice's Criminal Division. Early life and family Mythili is the daughter of Athishdam Tharmaratnam and grand daughter of C. Loganathan, former general manager of the Bank of Ceylon. Her parents are originally from Vadamarachchi in northern Sri Lanka. Mythili graduated summa cum laude from Yale University in 1991 with a BA degree. She attended the University of Chicago Law School and graduated with an honors JD degree in 1994. Career Mythili's legal career started as a law clerk for Francis Dominic Murnaghan, Jr., federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Hartley College
Hartley College ( ta, ஹாட்லிக் கல்லூரி ''Hāṭlik Kallūri'') is a provincial school in Point Pedro, Sri Lanka. Founded in 1838 by British Methodist missionaries, it is one of Sri Lanka's oldest schools. The school is named after Wesleyan priest and missionary Rev. Hartley. History Methodist missionaries from Britain arrived in Ceylon on 29 June 1814. The ''Wesleyan Mission Central School'' was founded in 1838 by Rev. Dr. Peter Percival. The school is located at the current location of the Methodist Girls' High School. The school transferred to its current site in 1874. The school was renamed ''Christ Church School'' in 1912 and ''Hartley College'' in 1916. Most private schools in Ceylon were taken over by the government in 1960.
