Cread L. Ray Jr. (March 10, 1931 – December 9, 2018) was a justice of the Supreme Court of Texas from November 25, 1980 to December 31, 1990. Born in Waskom, Texas, Ray graduated from Waskom High School in 1948, and received a BBA degree from Texas A&M University, in 1952. He then joined the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War. After the war he received a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1957. Ray entered private practice with a firm in Harrison County, Texas Harrison County is a county on the eastern border of the U.S. state of Texas. William Lockhart Garwood
William Lockhart Garwood (October 29, 1931 – July 14, 2011) was a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Education and career Born in Houston, Texas, to Wilmer St. John Garwood (1896–1987) and Ellen Burdine Clayton (1903–1993), Garwood was named after his maternal grandfather, William Lockhart Clayton, a Houston cotton merchant and, as undersecretary of state for economic affairs, a principal architect of the post-World War II Marshall Plan. Garwood received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University in 1952 and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Texas School of Law in 1955. Robert Alton "Bob" Gammage (March 13, 1938 – September 10, 2012) was a Texas politician, having served as a Democratic Party (United States), Democrat in the Texas House of Representatives, the Texas State Senate, and the United States House of Representatives. Waskom, Texas
Waskom is a city in the U.S. state of Texas with a 2020 United States census, 2020 census-tabulated population of 1,910, down from 2,160 residents in 2010 United States Census, 2010. It is located in Harrison County, Texas, Harrison County and lies approximately east of the county seat, Marshall, Texas, Marshall, on U.S. Route 80 and Interstate 20. Waskom forms part of Greater Marshall, which is also included in the Longview–Marshall combined statistical area in the Ark-La-Tex region.
