Clube de Futebol União, commonly known as União or União da Madeira, was a Portuguese association football, football club based in Funchal, Madeira, notable for its six appearances in the Portuguese top-flight Primeira Liga, between the 1989–90 Primeira Divisão, 1989–90 and 1991–92 Primeira Divisão, 1991–92 seasons, the 1993–94 Primeira Divisão, 1993–94 and 1994–95 Primeira Divisão, 1994–95 seasons and most recently in the 2015–16 Primeira Liga, 2015–16 season. The club was originally founded on 1 November 1913, thus being one of the oldest football clubs in Portugal, and maintained a strong local rivalry with neighbours C.S. Marítimo, Marítimo and C.D. Campo Do Adelino Rodrigues
Campo de Futebol Adelino Rodrigues, also known as Campo do Liceu, is a multi-use stadium, mainly used for football (soccer), football, which is located in the city centre of Funchal, on the Portugal, Portuguese island of Madeira Island, Madeira. The stadium is the current home of União da Bola. The stadium, which has a capacity for approximately 3,000 people in stands placed on three sides of the pitch, is mainly used by local football teams such as CS Madeira and by the University of Madeira teams. Until 2003, the pitch was made up of earth and clay, before it was revamped and laid with a synthetic astroturf surface. From October 2008 to June 2011, the stadium was also used for the home games of C.F. União, having moved from their previous home at the Estádio dos Barreiros. Rugby football is the collective name for the team sports of rugby union and rugby league. 2020–21 Campeonato De Portugal
The 2020–21 Campeonato de Portugal was the eighth season of Portuguese football's renovated third-tier league, since the merging of the Segunda Divisão and Terceira Divisão in 2013, and the sixth season under the current Campeonato de Portugal title. A total of 96 teams competed in this division. Due to the cancellation of all non-professional competitions in the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Portugal on the previous season, no teams were relegated, which lead to an additional team from each of the 20 district championships. The Portuguese Football Federation decided the creation of the Liga 3, a new tier in the Portuguese league system, beginning with the 2021–22 season, as well as a new format for Campeonato de Portugal, including the addition of four reserve teams invited from Primeira Liga clubs raising the total number of teams from 72 to 96. Vítor Oliveira (footballer, Born 1953)
Vítor Manuel Oliveira (17 November 195328 November 2020) was a Portuguese Association football, football midfielder and Manager (association football), manager. In a managerial career spanning over 30 years, he won 11 promotions to the Primeira Liga, six as champion. Playing career Born in Matosinhos, Oliveira's senior career spanned 13 seasons, ten of which were spent in the Primeira Liga where he appeared in a total of 218 games, scoring 17 goals; he represented Leixões S.C., Leixões SC, F.C. Famalicão, S.C. Espinho, S.C. Braga and Portimonense S.C. at that level. In 1984–85 Primeira Liga, his last year as a professional, he played 23 matches (one goal) for the latter team as they finished fifth and 1985–86 UEFA Cup, qualified for the UEFA Europa League, UEFA Cup for the first and only time in their history. The term phoenix club is used in professional team sports to refer to a new entity that is set up to replace that of a club that has failed in business terms but not in sporting terms, and generally involves the continuation of the sporting activity. In some cases, the phoenix club is created by the supporters of the club which has ended, or seems to be on the point of ending. A phoenix club will often have a very similar (although, for legal reasons, not identical) name and logo to the original club, and will also use a similar playing kit.
