Asian Youth Games
The Asian Youth Games, also known as AYG, is a multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. The Games have been organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). The Games are described as the second largest multi-sport event after the Asian Games. The creation of the AYG is part of Singapore's bid to host the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics. It was intended to show Singapore's organisational capabilities and infrastructure. In its history, two nations have hosted the Asian Youth Games. Forty-five nations have participated in the Games. 2021 Asian Youth Games
The 2021 Asian Youth Games or AYG 2021 ( zh, c=2021年亚洲青年运动会, p=Èr Líng èr yī Nián Yàzhōu Qīngnián Yùndònghuì), officially the 3rd Asian Youth Games ( zh, c=第三届亚洲青年运动会, p=Dìsān Jiè Yàzhōu Qīngnián Yùndònghuì) and commonly as Shantou 2021 ( zh, c=汕头2021, p=Shàntóu Èr Líng èr yī), is a cancelled multi-sport event which was intended to be held in Shantou, Guangdong, China in 2022. Originally planned as the fourth Games, the Olympic Council of Asia then decided to postpone the third Asian Youth Games from 2017 to 2021. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, in September 2021, the Games were postponed till December 2022, similar to 2021 Southeast Asian Games.
