Arlington High School (Illinois)
Arlington High School was a public high school located in Arlington Heights, Illinois, which operated from 1922 to 1984. It was the oldest school in Township High School District 214 which served students in Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Elk Grove Village, Mount Prospect, Prospect Heights, Rolling Meadows and Wheeling, Illinois. The school occupied a site that is approximately 1.3 km due east of Arlington Racetrack. In the mid-1980s, District 214 had budget concerns with declining enrollment. As a result, the district board members decided to close Arlington High School in 1984, and Forest View High School in 1986. Arlington High School was a comprehensive public high school located in Indianapolis, Indiana. It closed in 2018 but reopened in 2019 as Arlington Middle School. History Arlington High School was established in 1961 to address rapid suburbanization in Indianapolis. Arlington was among the last public high schools to open within the Indianapolis Public Schools system. In 2004, Arlington High School implemented a small school initiative: Traditional departments were done away with and five small schools, or schools within the school were created. Each school has its own academic dean, or principal, and the previous principal became the campus administrator. This district-pushed initiative was meant to improve student success. Arlington High School is a public high school located in Arlington, Massachusetts. As of 2010, the school enrolls approximately 1,300 students annually. The current principal is Matthew Janger. Currently being rebuilt. History The current Arlington High School, designed by Howard B.S. Prescott, was opened in 1915 for grades 10–12. What is now known as "Fusco house" was the only original building. Boys and girls were required to enter the building through two separate entrances. Two additions were later added on, the "Collomb house," as it is now known, in 1937 and then the "Downs house." Peirce Field, an outdoor field for football, soccer, track, field hockey, lacrosse, baseball and softball, was created by filling in "Cutter's Pond", which had been previously used for milling. Arlington Senior High School was a public high school in Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States. It was located in the city's North End neighborhood, north of Downtown Saint Paul. Arlington opened on September 3, 1996, and was the districts first new high school since Humboldt Senior High School opened twenty years earlier. Arlington High School is a public high school in the Arlington Central School District located in LaGrange, New York, United States, on Route 55. History The school, although not the current building, has its origins in the early years of the Arlington Union Free School District Number 7, the district's name from 1900 to 1961. When the district was formed, there were only two school buildings. In 1900, only one year of high school work was offered. Arlington High School is a public high school located in Arlington, Tennessee, United States. It was started in 2004 and had an enrollment of 2,097 students in the 2019–20 school year. History The town of Arlington, lying within unincorporated Shelby County, had been a low-population area since its establishment in 1883. However, in the 1990s, the area experienced rapid growth.
