King's College London
King's College London (informally King's or KCL) is a public research university located in London, England. King's was established by royal charter in 1829 under the patronage of King George IV and the Duke of Wellington. In 1836, King's became one of the two founding colleges of the University of London. It is one of the oldest university-level institutions in England. In the late 20th century, King's grew through a series of mergers, including with Queen Elizabeth College and Chelsea College of Science and Technology (in 1985), the Institute of Psychiatry (in 1997), the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals and the Florence Nightingale School of Nursing and Midwifery (in 1998). Michael Collins (Irish Leader)
Michael Collins ( ga, Mícheál Ó Coileáin; 16 October 1890 – 22 August 1922) was an Irish revolutionary period, Irish revolutionary, soldier and politician who was a leading figure in the early-20th century struggle for Irish independence. During the Irish War of Independence, War of Independence he was Director of Intelligence of the Irish Republican Army (1919–1922), Irish Republican Army (IRA) and a government minister of the self-declared Irish Republic. He was then Chairman of the Provisional Government of the Irish Free State from January 1922 and commander-in-chief of the National Army (Ireland), National Army from July until his death in an ambush in August 1922, during the Irish Civil War, Civil War. Mark Francois
Mark Gino Francois (; born 14 August 1965) is a British politician. A member of the Conservative Party, he has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Rayleigh and Wickford, previously Rayleigh, since the 2001 general election. Francois served as Vice-Chamberlain of the Household (2010–2012), a Minister of State at the Ministry of Defence (2012–2013) and Minister of State for the Armed Forces (2013–2015). Alex Burghart
Michael Alex Burghart (born 7 September 1977) is a British politician, academic and former teacher who has served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Brentwood and Ongar since 2017. A member of the Conservative Party, he was formerly a special adviser to Theresa May. He has been serving as Parliamentary Secretary for the Cabinet Office since October 2022. Early life Burghart was born in Dorset in 1977, the son of two state-school teachers. He attended Millfield School in Somerset, having gained a scholarship to the school. Imran Ahmad Khan
Imran Nasir Ahmad Khan (born 6 September 1973) is a British former politician and convicted sex offender who served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Wakefield from the 2019 general election until 2022. Elected as a Conservative, Ahmad Khan had the party whip withdrawn in June 2021; he was subsequently expelled from the party following his criminal conviction for child sexual assault in 2022. Born and educated in Wakefield in West Yorkshire, Ahmad Khan studied at the Pushkin Institute in Moscow and King's College London. He worked for the United Nations as special assistant for political affairs in Mogadishu and as a senior consultant for M&C Saatchi. A supporter of Brexit, he was elected in the 2019 general election and attributed his victory to voters' support for leaving the European Union in the 2016 referendum. Godfrey Binaisa
Godfrey Lukongwa Binaisa QC (30 May 1920 – 5 August 2010) was a Ugandan lawyer who was Attorney General of Uganda from 1962 to 1968 and later served as the fifth president of Uganda from June 1979 to May 1980. At his death he was Uganda's only surviving former president. Education and early career Born in Kampala, Binaisa was initially a lawyer. He was educated at King's College Budo and Makerere College. He then earned an LL.B. in law from King's College London in 1955 and was called to the Bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1956. He was appointed a Queen's counsel (QC) and had a private law practice in Kampala. Binaisa was a member of the political parties Uganda National Congress and United Congress Party during the 1950s. Senate House, London
Senate House is the administrative centre of the University of London, situated in the heart of Bloomsbury, London, immediately to the north of the British Museum. The Art Deco building was constructed between 1932 and 1937 as the first phase of a large uncompleted scheme designed for the university by Charles Holden. It consists of 19 floors and is high. During the Second World War, the building's use by the Ministry of Information inspired two works of fiction by English writers. The earliest, Graham Greene's novel ''The Ministry of Fear'' (1943), inspired a 1944 film adaptation directed by Fritz Lang set in Bloomsbury. John Freeman (diplomat)
John Patrick George Freeman (born 25 March 1951) is a retired British diplomat who until July 2019 was Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Career Freeman was educated at King's College London where he gained a PhD in 1986 with the thesis titled ''"Britain's nuclear arms control policy in the context of Anglo-American relations 1957–68"'', which later became a book published by Macmillan. He subsequently joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 1986, serving at first as Head of the South Africa Section, 1986–1989. France-Albert René (; 16 November 1934 – 27 February 2019) was a Seychellois lawyer, politician and statesman who served as the second President of Seychelles from 1977 to 2004.
