2024 Brisbane International
The 2024 Brisbane International was a professional tennis tournament on the 2024 ATP Tour and 2024 WTA Tour. It was played on outdoor hard courts in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. This was the thirteenth edition of the tournament and took place at the Queensland Tennis Centre in Tennyson as part of the Australian Open Series in preparation for the first Grand Slam of the year, and this was also the first tournament since 2020 (and men's events since 2019) after intervening editions cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. ATP Tour 250
The ATP 250 tournaments (previously known as the ''ATP World Tour 250'' tournaments, ''ATP International Series'', and ''ATP World Series'') are the lowest tier of annual men's tennis tournaments on the main ATP Tour, after the four Grand Slam tournaments, ATP Finals, ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, and ATP 500 tournaments. As of 2020, the series includes 39 tournaments, with 250 ranking points awarded to each singles champion—which accounts for the name of the series. Brisbane International
The Brisbane International established in 2009 is a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor hardcourts in Brisbane, Queensland in Australia. It is a WTA Premier tournament of the WTA Tour and was part of the ATP World Tour 250 series of the ATP World Tour until 2019, when it was dropped from the ATP Tour. The tournament is held annually in January at the Queensland Tennis Centre just before the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, the Australian Open (part of the Australian Open Series). It is owned by Tennis Australia. History In 1997, the Corel WTA Tour created a new event –played on outdoor hardcourts– in Gold Coast, Queensland. is an Australian professional tennis player. Following a successful career at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Hijikata went professional and has a career high ATP singles ranking of world No. 70 achieved on 16 October 2023 and in doubles of world No. 31 on the same date.
