2023–24 Big Ten Conference Women's Basketball Season
The 2023–24 Big Ten women's basketball season began with practices in October 2023, followed by the start of the 2023–24 NCAA Division I women's basketball season in November 2023. The regular season will end in March, 2024. This will be the last season played with 14 teams in the conference, with four schools joining the following year. This will be the first season played under the Big Ten's new seven-year media rights deal. As a result, no conference games will be played on ESPN and some games will be played on Peacock for the first time. NCAA Division I (D-I) is the highest level of College athletics, intercollegiate athletics sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States, which accepts players globally. Joe McKeown
Joseph L. McKeown pronounced Mick-Q-ann (born May 12, 1956), is the head women's basketball coach at Northwestern University. Career He has 600 wins as of November 21, 2014. He won the Atlantic 10 Conference's coach of the year award a record 5 times during his tenure at George Washington, and has also received the same honor once in the Big Ten Conference. McKeown remains George Washington's all-time leading coach in terms of wins and winning percentage. His teams have reached the postseason 19 times, with a 20th postseason trip all but certain in 2020. The South Dakota Coyotes women's basketball team represents the University of South Dakota in NCAA Division I basketball. They are currently members of the Summit League. Amy Michelle Williams ( née Gusso; born March 22, 1976) is the current head coach of the Nebraska women's basketball team. She was previously the head coach at the University of South Dakota, and led the Coyotes to the 2016 WNIT championship. Early life and education Born Amy Michelle Gusso in Spearfish, South Dakota, Williams graduated from Spearfish High School in 1993 and played 57 games as a reserve guard for the Nebraska Cornhuskers women's basketball team at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln from 1994 to 1998. Kimberly Ann Barnes Arico (born August 9, 1970) is an American women's basketball coach, and the current head coach of the Michigan Wolverines women's basketball team. Previously, she was head coach of the St. John's University women's basketball team. She was inducted to the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame in 2020. Brenda Sue Frese (born April 30, 1970) is an American women's basketball head coach and former player. Since 2002, she has served as the head coach of the University of Maryland women's basketball team. In her fourth year as head coach, she won the 2006 Women's National Championship. She won the 2009 ACC Regular Season and Tournament Championships – the women's first ACC Championship since 1989. She won another ACC Championship in 2012 and reached another Final Four in 2014. The Indiana State Sycamores basketball team is an NCAA Division I women's basketball program of Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Sycamores compete in the Missouri Valley Conference. Sycamore basketball history In 1971, women's basketball became an intercollegiate sport at Indiana State University.
