2023 Sun Belt Conference Football Season
The 2023 Sun Belt Conference football season was the 23rd season of college football play for the Sun Belt Conference (SBC). The season began on August 31, 2023 and ended with its conference championship game on December 2, 2023. It was part of the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The conference consists of 14 member schools split into two divisions. The conference released its full season schedule on February 24, 2023. Previous season During the 2022 Sun Belt Conference football season, Coastal Carolina won the east division, while Troy won the west division. In the conference championship game, Troy defeated Coastal Carolina by a score of 45–26. Troy advanced to the Cure Bowl where they defeated UTSA. The NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), formerly known as Division I-A, is the highest level of college football in the United States. The FBS consists of the largest schools in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). As of 2022, there are 10 conferences and 131 schools in FBS. College football is one of the most popular spectator sports throughout much of the United States. The top schools generate tens of millions of dollars in yearly revenue. Jason Henderson (American Football)
William Jason Henderson is an American football linebacker for the Old Dominion Monarchs. Early life Henderson was born in Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania and attended Delaware Valley High School. In Henderson's high school career he played on both sides of the ball. On offense he rushed for 1,411 yards and 24 touchdowns, while also hauling in 42 receptions for 740 yards and 11 touchdowns. Tim Beck (American Football, Born 1966)
Tim Beck (born March 14, 1966) is an American football coach and former player. He is the offensive coordinator at North Carolina State University, a position he has held since 2020. He will be taking over as the head coach for the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers following the completion of the 2022 season. Biography Early life Beck was born in Youngstown, Ohio on March 14, 1966, and graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School. The NC State Wolfpack football team represents North Carolina State University in the sport of American football. The Liberty Flames football program represents Liberty University, a private Christian university located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in college football. The Flames compete in NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) as an independent. Jamey Chadwell (born January 10, 1977) is an American football coach and former player, who serves as the head coach at Liberty University; he also served as head coach for Costal Carolina and interim HC in the 2017 season while permanent head coach Joe Moglia was on a medical leave. He was named Head Coach of CCU on January 18, 2019. Chadwell was previously the head coach at Charleston Southern University for four seasons (2013–16), North Greenville University for three seasons (2009–2011) and Delta State University for one season (2012). Incarnate Word Cardinals Football
The Incarnate Word Cardinals football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) located in San Antonio, Texas. The program began in 2009 and originally competed in NCAA Division II as members of the Lone Star Conference. In 2013, the school moved to Division I. For the 2013 season, UIW competed as a member of the Southland Conference for all sports except football. Football competed with an 11-game schedule as an Independent. He previously served as the head football coach at Texas State University from 2019 to 2022. Javon Pyree Solomon (born January 17, 2001) is an American football defensive end for the Troy Trojans. High school career Solomon attended Amos P. Godby High School in Tallahassee, Florida.
