2022–23 In Ukrainian Football
The 2022–23 in Ukrainian football was the 32nd edition of competitive football in Ukraine since dissolution of the Soviet Union. Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine and declaration of martial law in the country, the last season was interrupted and it was not certain whether or not next season would take place. Soon after the Russian forces were repelled from the northern Ukraine and Kyiv areas, it was announced that the Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF) would encourage clubs to restart the season. The UAF approved round-robin tournaments in all national league competitions under strict safety precautions, yet it was decided not to carry out competitions of single eliminations. Usually starting with the season opening match of the Ukrainian Super Cup, the 2022–23 season started on the Ukrainian Flag Day 23 August 2022 with Round 1 games of the Ukrainian Premier League. 2022–23 Ukrainian Premier League
The 2022–23 Ukrainian Premier League season, referred to as the VBet Liha for sponsorship reasons, is the 32nd top-level football club competition since the fall of the Soviet Union and the 15th since the establishment of the Ukrainian Premier League. The defending champions are the 16-time winners Dynamo Kyiv. The previous 2021–22 season was abandoned due to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Although Shakhtar Donetsk were at the top of the table when the league was abandoned, no title was officially awarded ("The handing out of awards to the league's medalists will not take place"). The current season began on 23 August 2022 and will end on 3 June 2023. 2022–23 UEFA Champions League Qualifying Phase And Play-off Round
The 2022–23 UEFA Champions League qualifying phase and play-off round began on 21 June and ended on 24 August 2022. A total of 52 teams competed in the qualifying system of the 2022–23 UEFA Champions League, which included the qualifying phase and the play-off round, with 42 teams in Champions Path and 10 teams in League Path. Football Club Dynamo Kyiv (, ) is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Kyiv. The Ukrainian Cup ( uk, Кубок України) is an association football national knockout cup competition run by the Ukrainian Association of Football. The competition is conducted almost exclusively among professional clubs. Since the 2003–04 season, the Cup winner qualifies to play the Ukrainian Premier League winner for the Ukrainian Super Cup. Current format The format of this competition consists of two stages: a qualification stage with two rounds followed by the main event (four rounds and the final game). The competition involves all professional clubs plus the two finalists of the Ukrainian Amateur Cup (since 2011).
