2022 Maryland Elections
A general election was held in the U.S. state of Maryland on November 8, 2022. All of Maryland's executive officers were up for election as well as all of Maryland's eight seats in the United States House of Representatives, one of its U.S. senators, and the state legislature. Primaries were held on July 19, 2022. Polls were open from 7 AM to 8 PM EST. The Democratic Party swept every statewide election, flipping the governorship and lieutenant governorship from the Republican Party, while maintaining supermajorities in the state's congressional delegation and the state legislature. As such, the party won full control of Maryland state government for the first time since 2014. United States Senate Incumbent Democratic U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen was first elected in 2016 with 60.9% of the vote, and was running for a second term. Maryland
Maryland ( ) is a state in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. Daniel Lewis Cox (born August 9, 1974) is an American far-right politician. He is a Republican who represents the fourth district in the Maryland House of Delegates. Brian Frosh
Brian E. Frosh (born October 8, 1946) is an American lawyer and politician serving as the Attorney General of Maryland. He also served five terms in the Maryland State Senate, representing Maryland's District 16 in Montgomery County. Prior to serving in the Senate, Frosh also represented District 16 in the Maryland House of Delegates, serving two four-year terms. Frosh was elected to his second term as attorney general on November 6, 2018. ''The Aegis'' is a local newspaper in Harford County, Maryland, United States. Its first issue was published on February 2, 1923. Barry Glassman
Barry Glassman (born March 24, 1962) is an American politician who served as the 7th county executive of Harford County, Maryland, from 2014 to 2022. He was previously a member of the Maryland State Senate, representing District 35 in Harford County, Maryland; he was appointed in 2008 to fill a vacancy, and subsequently was re-elected to the position in 2010. Harford County is located in the U.S. state of Maryland. As of the 2020 census, the population was 260,924. Its county seat is Bel Air. Harford County is included in the Baltimore-Columbia-Towson, MD Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Washington-Baltimore-Arlington, DC-MD-VA-WV-PA Combined Statistical Area. Brooke Elizabeth Lierman (born February 14, 1979) is an American civil rights attorney and politician who is the 34th Comptroller of Maryland. Democratic National Committee
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is the governing body of the United States Democratic Party. The committee coordinates strategy to support Democratic Party candidates throughout the country for local, state, and national office, as well as works to establish a "party brand". It organizes the Democratic National Convention held every four years to nominate a candidate for President of the United States and to formulate the party platform.
