An Islamic state is a State (polity), state that has a form of government based on sharia, Islamic law (sharia). Khairuddin Haseeb
Khairuddin Haseeb ( ar, خير الدين حسيب; August 1929 – 12 March 2021) was an Iraqi journalist, academic, and politician. He had served as President of the since its inception in 1975. Biography Haseeb was born in Mosul in August 1929. His father died 15 days after his birth, and he was raised by his grandfather, who was Wajih of the region. His grandfather died when Haseeb finished his secondary studies. He then attended the London School of Economics and earned a doctorate in public finance from the University of Cambridge. Upon his return to Iraq, Haseeb began working for the Ministry of Oil, helping replace many foreigners who held influence over the Iraq National Oil Company. However, he was imprisoned in 1968, held between four different prisons over the course of four years. He was released in 1972 and became a professor at the University of Baghdad. Rowsch Nuri Shaways (Kurdish: ڕۆژ نووری شاوەیس, Arabic: روز نوري شاويس) (15 – 1947 February 2021) was a Kurdish politician who served as the first Prime Minister of the KDP-controlled part of Kurdistan. After the invasion of Iraq that overthrew the Saddam Hussein regime, he served as one of Iraq's two vice presidents in the interim government established in 2004. Subsequently, he was a Deputy Prime Minister in the government headed by Ibrahim al-Jaafari and later held the same post under Nouri al-Maliki. He also served as Deputy Prime Minister under Haider Al-Abadi from 8 September 2014 to 9 August 2015. Attempted Assassination Of Mustafa Al-Kadhimi
On 7 November 2021, the Iraqi Armed Forces reported that Prime Minister of Iraq Mustafa Al-Kadhimi survived an assassination attempt that morning. An explosive-laden drone attacked his Baghdad residence while two were shot down. Several members of his security personnel were injured. No one has claimed responsibility, although the general consensus is that it was perpetrated by pro-Iran militias. The assassination attempt was probably connected to the pro-Iran militia supporters who caused the Baghdad clashes 2 days before. On 8 November, Kadhimi's office released a statement that the perpetrators were the same people who assassinated Nibras Farman, an agent for the Iraqi National Intelligence Service. 2021 Baghdad Clashes
The 2021 Baghdad clashes were a civil conflict between Iraqi protesters and Iraqi security forces following the 2021 Iraqi election. The protestors were supporters of Iran-backed militias and political parties. The clashes left two dead and more than 125 injured. Background The violence was fueled by the results of the 2021 Iraqi election which took place in October. Supporters of pro-Iranian groups, which suffered large losses in the polls, tried to storm the Green Zone, they threw stones at security forces, who fired tear gas and shot in the air to disperse the crowd. The protestors were mainly people affiliated with Iran-backed militias and Pro-Iran political parties. Nasiriyah ( ar, ٱلنَّاصِرِيَّة; United States Board on Geographic Names, BGN: ''An Nāşirīyah''; also spelled ''Nassiriya'' or ''Nasiriya'') is a city in Iraq. Nasiriyah Hospital Fire
A fire occurred at a Al-Hussein Teaching Hospital for COVID-19 isolation ward in Nasiriyah, Nasiriyah District, Dhi Qar Governorate, Iraq, on 12 July 2021. The fire left at least 60 people dead and another 100 were injured. Background It was just three months ago that the new ward was built, which had space for 70 beds in Nasiriyah's Al-Hussein Teaching Hospital. Following years of violence, most of the Iraqi healthcare system has been characterized as having bad conditions. In recent months, this has been characterized to be the second devastating type of incident. In April, a fire tore through a coronavirus ward in Baghdad, leaving more than 80 people killed.
