2021 UCI ProSeries
The 2021 UCI ProSeries is the second season of the UCI ProSeries, the second tier road cycling tour, below the UCI World Tour, but above the various regional UCI Continental Circuits. The 2021 season initially consisted of 55 events of which 28 were one-day races (1.Pro) and 27 were stage races (2.Pro). There were 47 events in Europe, 5 in Asia, 2 in the United States and 1 in Argentina. During January 2021, five races were cancelled and three were postponed, leaving 47 races in the 2021 UCI ProSeries season. Two races were added to the calendar (the Dwars door het Hageland and Eurométropole Tour), bringing the number of races scheduled to 49 in early February. UCI ProSeries
The UCI ProSeries is the second tier men's elite road cycling tour. It was inaugurated in 2020. The series is placed below the UCI World Tour, but above the various regional UCI Continental Circuits. Development In December 2018, the UCI announced various reforms to the structure and organisation of men's professional road racing. One of the major changes is the introduction of a new division of races called the UCI ProSeries. With the introduction of the ProSeries, the UCI .HC road races will disappear from the calendar. In October 2019, the UCI published the 2020 UCI International Road Calendar, including the ProSeries. The inaugural season of the ProSeries was planned to include 57 events, which were formerly World Tour, .HC or .1 events, but many were cancelled due to the worldwide Covid 19 pandemic of 2020-21. Giacomo Nizzolo
Giacomo Nizzolo (born 30 January 1989) is an Italian racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Leopard Trek (2011–18) Nizzolo took his first win at UCI World Tour level in August 2012, on stage 5 of the Eneco Tour. He launched his sprint away from the finish, and was almost passed on the line by Jürgen Roelandts (), who thought he had won, but the photo-finish would prove that Nizzolo was the victor. He won the Points classification in the Giro d'Italia two years in a row in 2015 and 2016 without a stage win. In 2018 Nizzolo was named as a rider in the Vuelta a España, he finished on the podium on 3 different stages. 2021 Bredene Koksijde Classic
The 2021 Bredene Koksijde Classic was the 18th edition of the Bredene Koksijde Classic road cycling one day race, which was held on 19 March 2021, starting and finishing in the titular towns of Bredene and Koksijde, respectively. The 1.Pro-category race was initially scheduled to be a part of the inaugural edition of the UCI ProSeries, but after the 2020 edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it made its UCI ProSeries debut in 2021, while also still being a part of the 2021 UCI Europe Tour. The race was won in a sprint by Tim Merlier () ahead of Mads Pedersen () and Florian Sénéchal (). 2021 Nokere Koerse
The 2021 Danilith Nokere Koerse was the 75th edition of the Nokere Koerse road cycling one day race, which was held on 16 March 2021, starting in Deinze and finishing in the titular town of Nokere. The 1.Pro-category race was initially scheduled to be a part of the inaugural edition of the UCI ProSeries, but after the 2020 edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it made its UCI ProSeries debut in 2021, while also still being a part of the 2021 UCI Europe Tour. Ludovic Robeet and Damien Gaudin had been part of the initial eight-man breakaway of the race, and with 15 kilometers to go, they dropped their breakaway companions just before a late cobble sector. In the final two kilometers, with them being in sight of the peloton, Robeet dropped Gaudin with a hard acceleration to solo away for his second professional win. The 2021 GP Industria & Artigianato di Larciano () was the 52nd edition of the GP Industria & Artigianato di Larciano road cycling one-day race that was held on 7 March 2021. The 1.Pro-category race was initially scheduled to be a part of the inaugural edition of the UCI ProSeries, but after the 2020 edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it made its UCI ProSeries debut in 2021, while also still being a part of the 2021 UCI Europe Tour. The long race took place in and around Larciano in Tuscany. It covered six laps of a mostly flat loop, followed by almost four laps of a loop that features the long climb of San Baronto. The 2021 Trofeo Laigueglia was a one-day road bicycle racing, road cycling race that took place on 2 March 2021 in and around Laigueglia, Liguria, on the northwestern coast of Italy. It was the 58th edition of the Trofeo Laigueglia and was rated as a 1.Pro event as part of the 2021 UCI Europe Tour and the 2021 UCI ProSeries. Mads Pedersen (born 18 December 1995) is a Danish professional racing cyclist, who rides for UCI WorldTeam . In September 2019, he won the men's road race at the 2019 UCI Road World Championships in Yorkshire, England, and became the first Danish cyclist to win the men's World Championship road race title. 2021 Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne
The 2021 Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne was the 73rd edition of the Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne cycling classic. It was held on 28 February 2021 as a category 1.Pro race on the 2021 UCI Europe Tour and the 2021 UCI ProSeries. The race was long, starting and finishing in Kuurne, and featured several cobbled sections and climbs. The race formed the latter half of the opening weekend of the Belgian road cycling season with UCI WorldTour race Omloop Het Nieuwsblad held the previous day.
