2021 Bredene Koksijde Classic
The 2021 Bredene Koksijde Classic was the 18th edition of the Bredene Koksijde Classic road cycling one day race, which was held on 19 March 2021, starting and finishing in the titular towns of Bredene and Koksijde, respectively. The 1.Pro-category race was initially scheduled to be a part of the inaugural edition of the UCI ProSeries, but after the 2020 edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it made its UCI ProSeries debut in 2021, while also still being a part of the 2021 UCI Europe Tour. The race was won in a sprint by Tim Merlier () ahead of Mads Pedersen () and Florian Sénéchal (). Teams Twelve of the nineteen UCI WorldTeams, ten UCI ProTeams, and three UCI Continental teams made up the twenty-five teams that participated in the race. 2021 UCI Europe Tour
The 2021 UCI Europe Tour was the 17th season of the UCI Europe Tour. The season began on 24 January 2021 with the Trofeo Luis Puig, Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana 1969 – Gran Premio Valencia and ended on 24 October 2021 with the Ronde van Drenthe. Throughout the season, points were awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determined how many points are awarded to the top finishers; the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points were awarded. The Bredene Koksijde Classic, previously Handzame Classic, is a European single day cycle race held in the Belgian region of Flanders, starting in Bredene and finishing in Koksijde. Maximilian Richard "Max" Walscheid (born 13 June 1993) is a German cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Walscheid was born in Neuwied.
