2020 In Bangladesh
The year 2020 was the 49th year after the independence of Bangladesh. It is also the second year of the fourth term of the Government of Sheikh Hasina. This year the entire country celebrated the 100th birthday of its Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The period between 17 March 2020 and 17 March 2021 was announced as the ‘Mujib Borsho (মুজিববর্ষ)’ or the year of Mujib. However, like rest of the world Bangladesh was also severely impacted by COVID-19 pandemic. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury (2021) (cropped)
Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury (born 6 October 1966) is a Bangladeshi politician who has served as the first female speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad since April 2013. At 46, she became the youngest to assume the office. She was also the chairperson of the executive committee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association between 2014 and 2017. She previously served as the state minister of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs of Bangladesh. Early life Chaudhury was born on 6 October 1966 in Chatkhil thana of Noakhali, Bangladesh. Her father, Rafiqullah Chaudhury, was a Civil Service of Pakistan (CSP) officer and Secretary to the Prime Minister Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1972. Her mother, Naiyar Sultana, was a member of Bangladesh Public Service Commission and the principal of Dhaka College. Bangladesh National Under-19 Cricket Team
The Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team represents the nation of Bangladesh in cricket at Under-19 level. They have been playing official Under-19 ODI matches since 1997 including competing in the last twelve World Cups and are the defending champion.
