2018–19 New Mexico State Aggies Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 New Mexico State Aggies men's basketball team represents New Mexico State University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Aggies, led by second-year head coach Chris Jans, play their home games at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico as members of the Western Athletic Conference. Jake Toolson
Jake Toolson (born March 6, 1996) is an American basketball player who last played for BG Göttingen of the easyCredit BBL. He played college basketball for the Utah Valley Wolverines and the BYU Cougars. He was named the 2019 Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year. Toolson's father Troy is the cousin of former Jazz wing Andy Toolson. College career Toolson, a shooting guard from Highland High School in Gilbert, Arizona, committed to play college basketball for Brigham Young University (BYU). In his sophomore season for the Cougars, Toolson appeared in 10 games and averaged 3.9 points per game before taking a medical leave and ending his season. The Utah Valley Wolverines men's basketball team is the basketball team that represents Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Western Athletic Conference. Seasons # Before 2003 Utah Valley State College was a Junior College. They received approval to begin transition to D1 status in Spring 2003. Trevelin Marleto Queen (born February 25, 1997) is an American professional basketball player for the Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the Osceola Magic of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the New Mexico State Aggies, as well as at College of Marin and New Mexico Military Institute. Early life and high school career Queen began playing basketball at the age of four at a hoop in his garage. He played shortstop and pitcher on the baseball field growing up, which he said was his best sport. Queen played football for the FAB Phenoms Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) program. 2019 WAC Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2019 WAC men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Western Athletic Conference during the 2018–19 season. All tournament games were played at the Orleans Arena in Paradise, Nevada, from March 14–16, 2019. New Mexico State defeated Grand Canyon 89–57 in the championship to win the tournament, and received the conference's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA tournament. The win was New Mexico State's WAC leading ninth championship, and seventh in the last eight seasons. Seeds 8 of the 9 teams in the WAC were eligible to compete in the conference tournament. California Baptist is ineligible due to their transition from Division II to Division I. Orleans Arena is a 9,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Paradise, Nevada, in the Las Vegas Valley.
