2017–18 Eredivisie
The 2017–18 Eredivisie was the 62nd season of the Eredivisie since its establishment in 1955. The season began on 11 August 2017 and concluded on 6 May 2018; the Europa League and relegation play-offs took place later that month. Feyenoord were the defending champions from the previous season. On 15 April 2018, PSV became champions for the 24th time after defeating their closest rival Ajax 3–0 at the Philips Stadion. FC Lisse
FC Lisse is a Dutch football club from Lisse which was founded in 1981. It currently plays in the Tweede Divisie. History The history of FC Lisse is linked to its Catholic religion, the first version of a football club being formed in 1911 by a local Catholic priest, called Lissese Voetbal Vereniging, which was later renamed Lisse Racing Club. In 1921 a separate team, RKVV Lisse, was formed. In 1942 Lisse RC was dissolved, and after World War Two another club, Lisser Boys, was formed. In 1968 an unsuccessful attempt was made to merge RKVV Lisse (later called Sportclub Lisse) and Lisser Boys, but on 17 March 1981 the teams were merged under the name FC Lisse. The club was automatically promoted to Topklasse in 2009–10, which was introduced as highest amateur level in the Netherlands. Aanhouden Doet Overwinnen 1920, simply known as ADO '20, is a Dutch association football club from Heemskerk, North Holland. They are currently playing in the Dutch Derde Divisie. The club was founded on 15 May 1920 as ''Aanhouden Doet Overwinnen 1920''. The home games are played at Sportpark de Vlotter. In February 2007, ADO '20 entered into a partnership with AZ Alkmaar in the field of youth development, knowledge exchange and scouting. This partnership has enabled ADO '20 to improve its youth academy. The most renowned youth prospect of the ADO '20 academy has been Jeffrey Gouweleeuw, who also played professionally for AZ. VV DOVO, short for Voetbalvereniging Door Ons Vrienden Opgericht, is a football club from Veenendaal, Netherlands. History The club was founded in 1933 as DVO and later changed its name to DOVO to set itself apart from a nearby club with an identical name. DOVO won section championships in lower leagues in 1936, 1937,1938, 1948, 1949, 1958, 1960, and 1967. In 1970 DOVO promoted to the Eerste Klasse, where it initially won sections in 1975, 1977, 1979, 1989, 1991, and 1994. In 1974, it drew national attention by beating NSVV from Numansdorp, 11–0, while pointing out that DOVO players had made mistakes. In 1979 it also became the Saturday Champion of the Netherlands. VV Spijkenisse
Voetbalvereniging Spijkenisse is a football club from Spijkenisse, Netherlands. In 2017–18, VV Spijkenisse played its sole season in the Saturday Derde Divisie. Since 2018, it plays in the Hoofdklasse. History VV Spijkenisse became champions of the Saturday amateurs in 1975 and then became overall amateur champion by beating the Sunday champion VV Emmen 2–4 away and 1–0 at home. In 2014, Spijkenisse won the championship of the Eerste Klasse C, which meant that the club forced promotion to the Hoofdklasse for the first time since the 2002–03 season. In the 2014–15 season, they won a period title and alongside Quick Boys and RVVH, they competed for play-offs for promotion to the Topklasse, but this was not realised. 2016–17 Derde Divisie
The 2016–17 Derde Divisie season is the first edition of the new Dutch fourth tier, formerly called Topklasse, since the restructuring of the league system in the summer of 2016. This change in the league system was approved in a KNVB assembly in December 2014. A new semi-professional level Tweede Divisie was added at the third tier, thus the Derde Divisie and leagues below it decremented by one level, and furthermore, promotion and relegation between the Tweede Divisie and the new Derde Divisie became effective.
