2015 Algarve Cup
The 2015 Algarve Cup was the 22nd edition of the Algarve Cup, an invitational Women's association football, women's football tournament held annually in Portugal. It took place on 4–11 March. Format Because of the number of competitive teams this year, the format was changed. Previously Group C teams were unable to get into the final, which was played between Group A and B winners. This year however, the final was played between the two best group winners. Points awarded in the group stage followed the standard formula of three points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a loss. In the case of two teams being tied on the same number of points in a group, their head-to-head result determine the higher place. Teams The participating teams were announced on 20 October 2014. Sofia Jakobsson
Eva Sofia Jakobsson (born 23 April 1990) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays for San Diego Wave in the National Women's Soccer League. She made her debut for the Sweden women's national football team in 2011 and won her 100th cap in 2019. Jakobsson represented her country in the 2013 edition of the UEFA Women's Championship, as well as at the 2011, 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups. Simone Melanie Laudehr (born 12 July 1986) is a German former footballer who played as a central midfielder or winger. Career Club Laudehr began her career at the age of three at FC Tegernheim. In 1996, she joined SC Regensburg, before playing for FC Bayern Munich for one season. At Bayern she made her Bundesliga debut. Laudehr transferred to FCR 2001 Duisburg in 2004, where she was runner-up in the Bundesliga five times, including four seasons in a row from 2005 to 2008. Parchal is a town and a former Freguesia (Portugal), civil parish in the municipality (''concelho'') of Lagoa Municipality (Algarve), Lagoa, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Estômbar e Parchal. The population in 2011 was 4,019, in an area of 3.86 km². It is situated in the northwest part of the Lagoa Municipality. Célia Šašić (; ; born 27 June 1988) is a German former footballer who played as a striker for SC 07 Bad Neuenahr, 1. FFC Frankfurt and the Germany national team before retiring in 2015.
