Andressa Alves da Silva (born 10 November 1992), commonly known as Andressa Alves or simply Andressa, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Italian Serie A club AS Roma. She previously played for FC Barcelona of the Spanish Primera División. She won her first cap for the Brazil women's national team in 2012 and has represented her country at multiple World Cups. Club career Andressa transferred from Centro Olímpico to Ferroviária in May 2013. In November 2013, Andressa left Ferroviária to sign for 2013 Copa Libertadores Femenina winners São José. The 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup was the seventh FIFA Women's World Cup, the quadrennial international soccer championship contested by the women's national teams of the member associations of FIFA. The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is a professional women's soccer league at the top of the United States league system. The 2013 Copa Libertadores Femenina was the fifth edition of the Copa Libertadores Femenina, CONMEBOL's premier annual international women's football club tournament. It was held in Foz do Iguaçu in Brazil. In professional football, a transfer is the action taken whenever a player under contract moves between clubs. It refers to the transferring of a player's registration from one association football club to another. In general, the players can only be transferred during a transfer window and according to the rules set by a governing body (fulfilling the requirements of FIFA, continental and national bodies regulating the purchasing and selling clubs). A negotiated transfer fee is agreed financial compensation paid from an interested club, to the club that possesses the player's exclusive contracted playing rights. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap.
