The 2009–10 Mountain West Conference men's basketball season marks the 11th season of Mountain West Conference basketball. Preseason The Mountain West Conference held its pre-season media day on October 6, 2009 at The Mtn. studios in Denver, Colorado. The league's media overwhelmingly voted Brigham Young the preseason #1 and BYU junior guard Jimmer Fredette the preseason player of the year. 2009 Las Vegas Invitational
The Las Vegas Invitational is an 8 team college basketball tournament held during Thanksgiving of NCAA Division I men's college basketball season annually since 2003. The Tournament was originally held in the gymnasium of Valley High School, until moving to the new Orleans Arena in 2006. The tourney launched with local car dealer Findlay Toyota as its sponsor. From 2006 to 2013 the sponsor of the tournament was IBN Sports. Continental Tire is the current sponsor of the tournament. Fox Sports purchased the event and the Las Vegas Classic in 2015. The Drake Bulldogs men's basketball team represents Drake University, located in Des Moines, Iowa, in NCAA Division I basketball competition and is coached by Darian DeVries. The program is best known for making the 1969 Final Four. History The early years (1906–1959) The first season Drake fielded a men's basketball team was 1906–07. The Bulldogs finished with a 2–1 record as an independent. The next year, during the 1907–08 season, they were charter members of the Missouri Valley Conference. The Creighton Bluejays men's basketball team represents Creighton University of the NCAA Division I college basketball. They currently compete in the Big East Conference having joined the conference following the Big East conference realignment in 2013. Wichita State Shockers Men's Basketball
The Wichita State Shockers men's basketball team is the NCAA Division I college basketball program representing Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. The Shockers have made 16 appearances in the NCAA tournament, reaching the Final Four twice, the Elite Eight four times, and the Sweet Sixteen six times. The Indiana State Sycamores basketball is the NCAA Division I men's basketball program of Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. They currently compete in the Missouri Valley Conference.
