Parviz Davoodi (; 5 February 1952 – 18 April 2024) was an Iranian education and conservative politician who was the third first vice president from 2005 to 2009. He was a member of the Expediency Discernment Council. Biography Parviz Davoodi was born in Tehran, Iran. Davoodi graduated from Iowa State University (ISU) in 1981 with a Ph.D. in Economics. Davoodi was also an economist at Shahid Beheshti University. Although Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was known to have conservative ideals, he taught liberal economic perspectives in his classrooms at Shahid Beheshti University. Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi (, 15 August 1948 – 24 December 2018) was an Iranian-Iraqi Twelver Shia cleric and conservative politician who was the Chairman of the Expediency Discernment Council from 14 August 2017 until his death on 24 December 2018. He was previously the Chief Justice of Iran from 1999 to 2009. He was also an Iraqi citizen and a former member of the Islamic Dawa Party. Shahroudi's official English-language biographical information from the Iranian Assembly of Experts' website opens with his education received in Najaf, Iraq from Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr, the Islamic Dawa Party's founder, and takes the view that al-Sadr was killed; al-Sadr was executed without trial by Saddam Hussein's regime in April 1980. Mehdi Ghalibafian (, 1935 — 12 June 2007) was an Iranian civil engineer and university professor. He is credited as introducing reinforced concrete in Iran. Career After ending elementary education, he finished his first two years of junior high school in Ferdosi High School in his birthplace Tabriz. He then moved to Tehran and completed his recent school-time in Sharaf High School. Afterwards, Ghalibafian graduated in the field of structure in civil engineering department of University of Tehran in 1959. He worked as the director of the first part of Avaj- Pahlavi road in technic corporation from November 1959 till September 1960. Succeeding that, he proceeded to design and analyze some buildings in a computational team from SANO Structural Engineers. Jaleh Esfahani (; 1921 – 29 November 2007) was an Iranian poet and literary scholar. Early life Jaleh Esfahani (registered as Ethal) was born in 1921 in Isfahan into a land-owning family. She was educated at Behešt Āʾyin School, which at the time was run by British missionaries, and Nurbaḵš High School in Tehran. Her father disapproved of her attending school, Esfahani credited her mother for playing an instrumental role in her education. Esfahani first began to compose poems when she was seven. Her poems were published in newspapers such as ''Aḵtar'', ''Sepantā'' and ''Bāḵtar'', while she was still attending high school. Esfahani's first collection of poetry, ''Golhā-ye ḵᵛodru'' (Wild flowers) was published in Tehran in 1945.
