Lahti
Lahti (; sv, Lahtis) is a city and municipality in Finland. It is the capital of the region of Päijänne Tavastia (Päijät-Häme) and its growing region is one of the main economic hubs of Finland. Lahti is situated on a bay at the southern end of lake Vesijärvi about north-east of the capital city Helsinki, south-west of the Heinola town and east of Hämeenlinna, the capital of the region of Tavastia Proper (Kanta-Häme). It is also situated at the intersection of Highway 4 (between Helsinki and Jyväskylä) and Highway 12 (between Tampere and Kouvola), which are the most significant main roads of Lahti. Valerios Leonidis
Valerios Leonidis ( el, Βαλέριος Λεωνίδης; born February 14, 1966) is a Greek former Olympic medalist weightlifter and current weightlifting trainer. He has won Olympic silver medal at 1996 Atlanta Olympic games in 64 kg division. Also two silver and one bronze World Championship medals. He has competed in different weight classes from 60 kg to 69 kg. His rivalry with world-record holder Naim Süleymanoğlu in the men's 64 kg was a very popular part of the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, in which he won the silver medal. Leonidis was born in Yessentuki, Russia, to a Pontic Greek family. He was a member of the national weightlifting team of the Soviet Union from 1982 to 1990 and he moved to Greece in 1991. Leonidas Kokas
Leonidas Kokas ( el, Λεωνίδας Κόκας; born 3 June 1973), also spelled Kokkas ( el, Κόκκας), is a Greek weightlifter. His highest distinction was winning the silver medal in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. He competed in the 94 kg category. Life and sport results Kokkas was born in Kakavie, Dropull, southern Albania, to an ethnic Greek family. In 1991, along with Pyrros Dimas, Giorgos Tzelilis, Leonidas Sabanis and Viktor Mitrou, Kokas left Albania for Greece. There, he joined Spartakos club of Ioannina. In 1996, he won Olympic silver, in Atlanta, in the 91 kg category. He lifted 215 kg in the jerk and 175 in the snatch for a second-place 390 kg total. He celebrated his win with close friend Pyrros Dimas, with whom he shared a room for the past several months. Kakhi Kakhiashvili
Kakhi Kakhiashvili ( ka, კახი კახიაშვილი, el, Ακάκιος "Κάχι" Κακιασβίλης; born 13 July 1969 in Tskhinvali, Georgian SSR, USSR) is a Georgian-Greek weightlifter, one of only five weightlifters to have won three consecutive gold medals at Olympic Games. He won his first at Barcelona 1992, competing with the Unified Team, and later as a citizen of Greece at Atlanta 1996 and in Sydney 2000. Tadeusz Drzazga (born August 7, 1975 in Wałcz, Zachodniopomorskie) is a retired male Olympic weightlifting, weightlifter from Poland. Marc Huster (born 1 July 1970 in Altdöbern) is a German weightlifter and sports commentator. World Champion in Istanbul 1994, European Champion in Rijeka 1997, Riesa 1998, and Deportivo La Coruña 1999. World records in clean and jerk 1993 (210 kg) and 1996 (213.5 kg), world record in Olympic weightlifting combined 1994 (382.5 kg), European record in clean and jerk 1999 (215 kg). Pyrros Dimas ( el, Πύρρος Δήμας; ; born 13 October 1971) is a Greek politician and former weightlifter. He is currently the technical director for USA Weightlifting, having taken that position in June 2017. Dimas has also been involved in politics as a member of the Hellenic Parliament, representing the Panhellenic Socialist Movement from 2012 to 2015. Dimas is the most decorated Greek athlete in the Olympics and is widely considered one of the greatest weightlifters of all time, having been three times Olympic Gold Medalist (in his fourth Olympiad, a knee injury notwithstanding, he won the bronze medal), and three times World Champion. Badr Salem Nayef (born Petar Tanev ( bg, Петър Танев); October 29, 1972 in Bulgaria), is a Qatari weightlifter. He is the 1999 world champion. One of eight Bulgarian weightlifters recruited by the Qatar Olympic Committee for $1,000,000, Badr Salem Nayef became a Qatari citizen to represent the country.
