Pembrokeshire
Pembrokeshire ( ; cy, Sir Benfro ) is a Local government in Wales#Principal areas, county in the South West Wales, south-west of Wales. Elwyn Roberts
Elwyn Roberts (1931-2009) was a Welsh, Anglican priest. Roberts was educated at Bangor University, Keble College, Oxford and St Michael's College, Llandaff. He was ordained deacon in 1955 and priest in 1956. After a curacy in Bangor he was Librarian of St Michael's College, Llandaff. He was Vicar of St David, Bangor from 1966 to 1971; and Rector of St George, Llandudno from 1971 to 1983. Gerallt Lloyd Owen
Gerallt Lloyd Owen (6 November 1944 – 15 July 2014) was a Welsh-language poet who lived in Llandwrog. He is considered to be one of Wales's leading "strict-metre" poets. Works Owen began as a "political poet" in the 1960s, often using medieval forms or imagery for purposes of promoting Welsh nationalism. His political works at times satirized the failings of the Welsh people, or Welsh history, rather than simply praising them. The 1982 Bardic Chair at the National Eisteddfod of Wales was awarded to Owen for his ''awdl'' ''Cilmeri'', which Hywel Teifi Edwards has called the only 20th-century ''awdl,'' that matches T. Gwynn Jones' 1902 masterpiece ''Ymadawiad Arthur'' ("The Passing of Arthur"). Criccieth
Criccieth ( cy, Criccieth ) is a town and community on the Llŷn Peninsula in the Eifionydd area of Gwynedd in Wales. The town lies west of Porthmadog, east of Pwllheli and south of Caernarfon. It had a population of 1,826 in 2001, reducing to 1,753 at the 2011 census. The town is a seaside resort, popular with families. Ronnie Williams
Ronald Clive Williams (29 March 1939 28 December 1997) was a Welsh actor and comedian, who remains best known for his association with Ryan Davies during the 1970s. Ronnie Williams began his career as an actor, but struggled for recognition, making an isolated television appearance in ''The Wednesday Play'' in 1966 as a newsreader, which by then he was; the episode, "Where the Buffalo Roam", was written by Dennis Potter and starred Hywel Bennett. He worked as a bus conductor before finding fame with his appearances on Welsh language television, working as a continuity announcer and newsreader for BBC Wales. In 1970, he created a double act with Ryan Davies; their comedy series, '' Ryan & Ronnie'', was broadcast first on BBC Wales and later, in English, on BBC1. Ryan Davies
Ryan Davies (22 January 1937 – 22 April 1977) was a Welsh comedian, actor, musician, singer, and songwriter. Though his career lasted just 11 years, he became widely known in Wales through his work with Ronnie Williams as the comedic double act Ryan and Ronnie. Early life Davies was born in Glanamman on 22 January 1937. He was educated in Bangor and at London's Central School of Speech and Drama. Career Davies' first professional appearance was in the National Eisteddfod of Wales in Aberavon in 1966. His talents were quickly recognised by BBC Wales, and he made his name on Welsh-language television shows such as the sitcom ''Fo a Fe''. Meredydd Edwards, the head of Light Entertainment, brought Davies and Ronnie Williams together as a double act and the pair had immediate success, first in their Welsh-language television show '' Ryan a Ronnie''. The 1976 UEFA European Football Championship final tournament was held in Yugoslavia. This was the fifth UEFA European Championship, held every four years and endorsed by UEFA. The final tournament took place between 16 and 20 June 1976. Only four countries played in the final tournament, with the tournament consisting of the semi-finals, a third place play-off, and the final. This was the last tournament to have this format, as the tournament was expanded to include eight teams four years later. It was the only time that all four matches in the final tournament were decided after extra time, either on penalties or by goals scored.
