The emirs of Kuwait are members of the House of Al Sabah, Al Sabah dynasty. picture info	Sabah Al-Salim Al-Sabah Sheikh Sabah III Al-Salim Al-Sabah (12 April 1913 – 31 December 1977) ( ar, صباح السالم الصباح) was the second ruler of Kuwait after it gained independence from Great Britain, titled the Emir of the State of Kuwait and Commander of the Kuwait Military Forces from 24 November 1965 until his death in 1977. The youngest son of Salim Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Sabah succeeded his half-brother Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah upon his death in 1965. He suspended parliament in late August 1976 for four years, claiming it was acting against the nation. He was the 12th ruler in the family dynasty. Prior to his ascension, Sabah served as the president of the Police Directorate from 1953 to 1959, President of the public health department from 1959 to 1961, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1962 to 1963, and Prime Minister of Kuwait from 1963 to 1965. 	Yacoub Al-Mohana Yacoub Yousef Al-Mohana (born March 21, 1975) is a Kuwaiti film and musical director. He had worked musical videos of the Persian Gulf region's popular vocalists such as Rashed Al-Majed, Rahma Mezher and Ali Al Badr. He was noted for his many works of art, including paintings and poetry, and being a very well versed musician, as he acquired skills from his well-versed family of musicians. 	Faiz Mohammed Ahmed Al Kandari Faiz Mohammed Ahmed al-Kandari (born 3 June 1977) is a Kuwaiti citizen who was held in extrajudicial detention in the United States' Guantanamo Bay detainment camp in Cuba, from 2002 to 2016. He has never been charged with war crimes. The US Department of Defense reports he was born on 3 June 1977, in Kuwait City. Kandari was transferred to Kuwait on 8 January 2016. 	Khalid Abdullah Mishal Al Mutairi Khalid Abdullah Mishal al Mutairi (born June 18, 1975), also known as Khalid Hassan, is a Kuwaiti charity worker who was unlawfully detained in the United States Guantanamo Bay detainment camps, in Cuba. He was ordered released in August 2009, when it was determined that the law required the American government to prove his guilt, rather than demand al Mutairi prove his innocence. The ruling judge noted that al Mutairi had been "goaded" into making incriminating statements for interrogators, such as confessing alongside Osama bin Laden in 1991, while noting that some of his stories were contradictory.
