Queen Of South Africa
From 1910 to 1961, the Union of South Africa was a self-governing country that shared a monarch with the United Kingdom and the other Dominions of the British Empire. Jeremy Baskin is a specialist in sustainable business practice. He is a director of the University of Cambridge's Programme for Industry, running a global programme on Business & Poverty and a range of other programmes in Australia. Baskin is also a South African labour market analyst. Gordon Igesund
Gordon Igesund (born 22 July 1956) is a former South African football player and coach who was most recently the manager of Highlands Park in the Premier Soccer League. Early life Igesund was born in Durban to George Norman Igesund (born 1932) who Igesund was named after. His family lived in Port Shepstone where former Arsenal player Danny Le Roux lived. Coaching career Igesund is a record-breaking coach in South Africa, having become the only man to coach four different top-flight teams to the Premier Soccer League championship. He first made his name when he led unfashionable coastal team Manning Rangers to the inaugural PSL title in the 1996/97 season. He followed this up in the 2000/01 season with another title, this time at the helm of Soweto giants Orlando Pirates. Solomon Mahlangu
Solomon Kalushi Mahlangu (10 July 1956 – 6 April 1979) was a South African freedom fighter, struggle activist and operative of the African National Congress (ANC) militant wing, Umkhonto weSizwe, Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK). He was convicted of murder and hanged in 1979. Early years Mahlangu was born in Pretoria on 10 July 1956, the second son of Martha Mahlangu. His father left in 1962 and as a result he was raised by his mother, a domestic worker. He attended Mamelodi High School up to Standard 8 (his tenth year of school), but his education was interrupted in 1976 by the riots of the Soweto uprising that resulted in school closures. Military training In 1976 Mahlangu fled to Mozambique and spent six months in a refugee camp near Xai Xai. Anant Singh (born May 1956, Durban) is a South African film producer and a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Education Singh attended the University of Durban-Westville, in South Africa. Career Singh is the CEO of Videovision Entertainment, and the producer of " Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" which premiered in 2013 at the Toronto International Film Festival. Singh spent more than two decades on producing the film, in which he also interviewed Mandela while he was still imprisoned. The film took more than sixteen years to complete. Albert Lutuli
Albert John Mvumbi Luthuli ( – 21 July 1967) was a South African anti-apartheid activist, traditional leader, and politician who served as the President-General of the African National Congress from 1952 until his death in 1967. Luthuli was born to a Zulu family in 1898 at a Seventh-day Adventist mission in Bulawayo, Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). He returned to his family's ancestral home of Groutville in 1908 to attend school under the care of his uncle. After graduating from high school with a teaching degree, Luthuli became principal of a small school in Natal where he was the sole teacher.
