Luis Moglia Barth (12 April 1903 - 18 June 1984) was an Argentine film director and screenwriter, and one of the influential directors in the Cinema of Argentina of the classic era. He directed some 30 films between 1927 and 1959, often screenwriting for his pictures. He died in Buenos Aires, aged 81. Eduardo Morera (9 January 1906 – 21 January 1997) was an Argentine film director. Although his career was relatively short compared to other directors of the period, he directed 18 films between 1930 and 1943, including influential tango films such as 1937's '' Así es el tango''. Lumiton
Lumiton is a former film production company and current museum located in Munro, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Lumiton Studios was founded in 1932 at the start of the golden age of film in that country. Its lowbrow, populist films appealed to local audiences and were highly successful in Argentina and throughout Latin America. It was the main competitor to Argentina Sono Film in the 1940s. After World War II (1939–45) Lumiton faced increased government regulation, rising costs and loss of audiences to more sophisticated Hollywood productions. The company was forced to shut down in 1952. History Beginning Lumiton was founded in the town of Munro, Buenos Aires, with an initial capital of 300,000 pesos. The name "Lumiton" is made from the words for "light" and "sound". The full name was "Sociedad Anónima Radio Cinematográfica Lumiton" (Lumiton Radio Cinematography Company Ltd.) Enrique Telémaco Susini
Enrique Telémaco Susini (January 31, 1891 – July 4, 1972) was an Argentine entrepreneur and media pioneer. In 1920, Susini led the effort for the first radio broadcast in Argentina, and subsequently established one of the earliest regular radio stations in the world. During the 1920s and 1930s, he became a successful entrepreneur in the nascent radio and film industry. Besides his business interests, Susini was an accomplished artist. He worked as director for theaters in Argentina and Italy and directed several movies produced by Lumiton, which he owned. Early life Enrique T. Susini was born in Buenos Aires as son of Dr. Telémaco Susini, professor of pathological anatomy at the University of Buenos Aires and the country's first otolaryngologist. Victor Mercante
Victor Mercante (February 21, 1870 — September 20, 1934) was an Argentine educator. Mercante was born in Merlo, in the Province of Buenos Aires. At the age of seven, his family moved back to their homeland, Italy, and he returned to Argentina in 1880. He earned a teaching degree, and started teaching in 1890 in the Province of San Juan. He was of significant influence to the Argentine educational system, introducing scientific, secular principles of teaching. Mercante died while crossing the Andes, in Chile.
