Oscar Alin
Oscar Josef Alin (22 December 184631 December 1900) was a Swedish historian and politician. Life Alin was born in Falun, Sweden. In 1872 he completed his doctorate and became docent of political science, and in 1882 ''professor skytteanus'' of Government and Eloquence at Uppsala University. Betty Linderoth
Betty Linderoth, née Cedergren (Stockholm, 13 February 1822 – Stockholm, 10 December 1900), was a Swedish watchmaker. Betty Linderoth was the daughter of a watchmaker and educated as her father's apprentice and Journeyman. When she was mocked by her fellow students as a "watchmaker in skirts", she dressed in trousers and cut her hair. In 1844, she married the watchmaker Gustaf Vilhelm Linderoth (d. 1871) and became the master of his business in Stockholm. She studied in Paris and Switzerland and was later given the task to regularly perform the maintenance of the clocks of the customers. Among her customers were the queen, Josephine of Leuchtenberg, and Princess Eugenie of Sweden. The Linderoth company had the task to construct the clocks of the nations railway stations, which were in fact made by her. Aurore Storckenfeldt
Hedvig Amalia Aurora "Aurore" Storckenfeldt (26 December 1816 in – 21 July 1900 in Jönköping) was a Swedish reform pedagogue. She founded the Storckenfeldtska skolan (The Storchefeldt School) in Jönköping, and served as its principal in 1847–1891, during which time it was regarded as one of the best educational institutions for females in the nation. Storckenfeldt is regarded as an important member of the pioneers of girl's education in the mid 19th century Sweden, who reformed the education of girls by establishing girls' schools which offered proper academic education for females, in contrast to the earlier girl's pensions shallow education. Gustaf Åkerhielm
Baron Johan Gustaf Nils Samuel Åkerhielm af Margaretelund (24 June 1833 – 2 April 1900) was a Swedish politician, a baron, a landowner, member of the Riksdag from 1859 to 1866 and from 1870 to 1900, a minister of finance from 1874 to 1875, a minister for foreign affairs in 1889, and a prime minister from 1889 to 1891. He was married to Ulrika Gyldenstolpe in 1860, with whom he had three children. Biography Gustaf Åkerhielm was born in Stockholm, son to Swedish cabinet member Gustaf Fredrik Åkerhielm and his wife, Elisabeth Sophia Anker. Ragnar Arthur Granit (30 October 1900 – 12 March 1991) was a Finnish-Swedish scientist who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1967 along with Haldan Keffer Hartline and George Wald "for their discoveries concerning the primary physiological and chemical visual processes in the eye".
