C. L. Bryant
Cleon Lewis Bryant (born March 28, 1956) is an American Baptist minister and former radio and television host based in Jensen Beach, Florida. He is a senior fellow at FreedomWorks, a conservative advocacy group. Background C.L. Bryant was born on March 28, 1956 to Lewis C. Bryant, a World War II veteran, and Elnola Goode, a native of De Soto Parish. Bryant was one of the first black children to attend Lake Shore Junior High School in Shreveport at the beginning of school desegregation in the late 1960s. He graduated in 1974 from Fair Park High School in Shreveport, along with Fox Sports announcer Tim Brando. Bryant attended Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Bishop College in Texas and Tampa College in Tampa; the latter two of which are defunct. Shreveport ( ) is a city in the U.S. state of Louisiana. It is the third most populous city in Louisiana after New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Baton Rouge, respectively. Grand Cane, Louisiana
Grand Cane is a village in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 242 at the 2010 census, up from 191 in 2000. It is part of the Shreveport–Bossier City Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is the hometown of women's basketball pioneer Linda Gamble. History Prior to the incorporation of the village of Grand Cane in 1899, the settlement of four families (Thomas Abington, Israel Rogers, Wright Hobgood, and John Wagner) influenced the development of the area around two wagon trails that intersected in the sparsely populated area known as the Grand Cane Territory. In 1881, Amanda Hobgood (widow of Wright Hobgood) deeded land to the New Orleans & Pacific Railway and had the village of Grand Cane laid out in lots and streets. Composition The Louisiana State Senate is composed of 39 senators elected from single-member districts from across the state of Louisiana by the electors thereof. Virginia Shehee
Virginia Ruth Kilpatrick Shehee (1923-2015) was an American businesswoman and politician from Louisiana. A member of the Democratic Party, she was the first woman elected to the Louisiana State Senate. Personal life Shehee was born on July 12, 1923, in Houston, Texas to Lonnie Benjamin Kilpatrick and Nell Peters. She was descended from one of the Old Three Hundred families and had a sister, Ann Shane Kilpatrick. As a child, her family moved to Shreveport, Louisiana where he parents established two companies, the Kilpatrick Life Insurance Company and the Rose-Neath Funeral Home. While a student at C.E.
