C.D. Atlético Marte
Club Deportivo Atlético Marte, also known as Atlético Marte, is a Salvadorian association football club based in San Salvador. The club plays in the Primera División de Fútbol Profesional, the top tier of the El Salvador football league system, and host matches at the Estadio Cuscatlán. Atlético Marte have a long-standing rivalry with their neighbouring club Alianza, with whom they have contested the derby since 1968. Since its formation in 1950, the club has won eight Primera División titles—in 1955, 1956, 1957, 1969, 1970, 1980–81, 1982, and 1985—and the Segunda División de El Salvador once, in Torneo Clausura 2009). In 1981, the team was runner-up of the CONCACAF Champions' Cup losing to SV Transvaal of Suriname. Estadio Cuscatlán
The Estadio Cuscatlán is a football stadium located in the city of San Salvador, El Salvador. It was inaugurated in 1976. It can hold 53,400 spectators, making it the stadium with the largest spectator capacity in Central America and the Caribbean. The stadium has undergone several renovations, including in 1997; 2007; 2008; 2015, with the change of colors alluding to the country's flag (blue and white); and the most recent in 2020, with the installation of a new screen 100m² 4K LED and 54 new 1,500-watt metal halide luminaires with a capacity of 1,000 luxes, and an automated irrigation system. Norberto Huezo
José Norberto Huezo Montoya (born 6 June 1956) is a retired football player from El Salvador who represented his country at the 1982 FIFA World Cup in Spain. Club career Huezo started his career at UES and played for ANTEL before joining Atlético Marte in 1976. He then played in Mexico, but returned to Marte only to try his luck abroad again when he moved to Spanish side Palencia. He also played for Cartagena FC but returned to Marte again in 1985. He left after a year for Costa Rican outfit Herediano with whom he won a league title and then for Guatemalan side Jalapa. He finished his career at FAS. Sergio Méndez
Sergio de Jesús Méndez Bolaños (14 February 1943 – 18 December 1976) was a football player from El Salvador who represented his country at the 1970 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. Club career Méndez came from a family of footballers, his younger brother and some first cousins were also professional soccer players for CD Luis Angel Firpo and Alianza FC. Nicknamed (El Tabudo) because of the town where he was born, Méndez played for Atlético Marte, C.D. Suchitepequez (Guatemala) and C.D.Águila where he was one of the top scorers during his years in the team. Méndez was a very good friend of Brazilian defender Zózimo Alves Calazães, both met while playing for CD Aguila. Ricardo Sepúlveda
Ricardo Sepúlveda (19 May 1941 – 3 February 2014) was a Chilean football manager and player. He played as a forward. Managerial career Following his retirement he went on to coach several teams in El Salvador including Alianza, Atlético Marte, UES, Independiente, C.D. Santiagueño. He coached Alianza to the 1987 final defeating Aguila on penalties. He also coached in Guatemala with Suchitepéquez in 1981. José Antonio Quintanilla Escobar (29 October 1947 – 1977) was a former footballer from El Salvador who played as a midfielder. Club career Quintanilla was a member of the 1966 and 1967 league championship winning side of Alianza. He also played for Atlético Marte and Once Municipal. Raúl Alfredo Magaña Monzón (24 February 1940 – 30 September 2009) was a Salvadoran footballer and manager. He is regarded as one of the greats of Salvadoran football. Club career Magaña made his debut aged 18 against Deportivo Saprissa in Costa Rica, coming on as a sub for Humberto Pérez. Deportivo Saprissa
Deportivo Saprissa is a Costa Rican sports club, mostly known for its football team. The club is based in San Juan de Tibás, San José, and play their home games at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa Aymá. The team's signature colours are purple (burgundy) and white. It is the main team representing the capital, but with the distinction of being massively followed throughout the whole country and overseas. The club was founded in 1935 and has competed in the Costa Rican first division since 1949. The name of the team comes from one of the club's main founders, Ricardo Saprissa. Conrado Miranda
José Conrado Miranda Sasso (14 October 1928 – 13 October 2021) was a Salvadoran football player and coach who created a legacy in El Salvador. He and longtime partner Juan Francisco Barraza helped evolve football in El Salvador. He was known as ''El Estilista''. Club career His first steps as a player are traced to the Pipiles F.C.
