C-3 (Cercanías Madrid)
The C-3 is a line and rail service of Cercanías Madrid commuter rail network, operated by Renfe Operadora. It runs from El Escorial northwest of Madrid to Aranjuez south of Madrid. The C-3 shares tracks for half of its length with Madrid commuter rail service line while it also shares significant parts with lines , and . The line has been in operation since 1980, with its current incarnation in operation since 22 September 2011. On 5 November 2018, the C-3a service was introduced as a separation of former extended C-3 services terminating at either El Escorial, Madrid, El Escorial or Santa María de la Alameda. El Escorial, Madrid
El Escorial is a municipality in the Community of Madrid, Autonomous Community of Madrid, located 45 km (28 mi) northwest of the Spain, Spanish capital Madrid. It belongs to the Comarcas of Spain, comarca of Cuenca del Guadarrama. Its population in 2009 was 14,979. The territory of El Escorial is home to the park of La Granjilla de la Fresneda. Galapagar
Galapagar is a town and municipality northwest of Madrid, Spain, situated in the autonomous community of the Community of Madrid. Of all the towns in the area, it was experiencing the most growth, mostly because of immigration and the conversion of old livestock fields into terrain for construction. The name Galapagar comes from the Spanish ''galápago'', meaning turtle, as the town centre was settled near a lake full of turtles. The town first appears as a village in the eleventh century, its importance due to the frequent hunting expeditions by the Spanish royalty, and being a main stop on the road from the capital to the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Pinto is a municipality in the Community of Madrid, Spain. It is located in the central area of the Iberian Peninsula at an altitude of 604 meters, 20 kilometers south of Madrid, and covers 62.7 square kilometers. In 2018, Pinto had a population of 51,541. It is home to the Torre de Pinto, the Pinto Castle, and the Éboli Tower, which is a 14th-century tower used as a prison for nobles who fell out of favor with the king.
