Bälinge IF is a sports club from Bälinge, 10 kilometres north-west of Uppsala, Sweden. Background Bälinge Idrottsförening was established on 15 March 1936 and is currently active in men's and ladies' football, cross-country skiing, floorball, and table tennis. In the past the club has also run an ice hockey section. In the first years of Bälinge IF's history their sportsmen wore blue and yellow team colours. It was then decided that these colours could only be used by a Swedish national team so BIF had to switch to black and yellow. Since 1942 Bälinge IF has participated mainly in the middle and lower divisions of the Swedish football league system. The club currently plays in Division 4 Uppland which is the sixth tier of Swedish football. They play their home matches at the Bälinge IP in Bälinge. Bälinge, Uppsala Municipality
Bälinge is a urban areas of Sweden, locality situated in Uppsala Municipality, Uppsala County, Sweden with 2,437 inhabitants in 2010. The village was built around Bälinge Church, Uppland, Bälinge Church, which was originally erected in the 13th century and is decorated with paintings made by Albertus Pictor. It was rebuilt between 1784 and 1788, and only parts of the outer walls remain from the original church. Damallsvenskan
The Damallsvenskan, Swedish for ''ladies all-Swedish'' and also known as OBOS Damallsvenskan for sponsorship reasons, is the highest division of women's football in Sweden. It is also referred to as the women's Allsvenskan. The term Allsvenskan alone is used to reference the men's division. The division consists of a league of 14 teams. From 2013, the Damallsvenskan began operating on a system of promotion and relegation with the Elitettan. The two lowest placed teams are relegated to the Elitettan, and the two highest placed teams from the Elitettan are promoted in their place. Starting with the 2022 season the league has been expanded from 12 to 14 teams. The first Swedish women's national championship was played in 1973. Studenternas IP is a multi-use stadium in Uppsala, Sweden and the home arena for the football clubs IK Sirius Fotboll on the men's side and IK Uppsala Fotboll on the women's and in bandy for IK Sirius in Elitserien Elitserien (literally, "the Elite League") is the name of several Swedish nationwide sport leagues. Anna Lenita Josefine Öqvist (born 23 July 1983) is a Swedish former footballer who played for Montpellier of the French Division 1 Féminine and the Swedish national team. She scored a critical goal at the 86' minute in the 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup semifinals against Canada to put Sweden through to the final. Nicknamed Jossan, she was named the Swedish Rookie of the Year in 2003. While her primary position is a forward, she was named as a midfielder for the 2008 Summer Olympics. During the tournament she was injured and replaced with Maria Aronsson.
