Bárðarbunga
Bárðarbunga (), is a stratovolcano located under Vatnajökull in Vatnajökull National Park which is Iceland's most extensive glacier. The second highest mountain in Iceland, above sea level, Bárðarbunga is also part of a volcanic system that is approximately long and wide. Description Bárðarbunga is a subglacial stratovolcano under the ice cap of Vatnajökull glacier in the Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland. It rises to above sea level, making it the second highest mountain in Iceland, about lower than Hvannadalshnjúkur. The caldera is about 80 square kilometres, up to 10 km wide and about deep. The surrounding edges rise to 1,850 metres, but the base is on average close to 1,100 metres. The volcano is covered in ice to a depth of 850m, hiding the glacier-filled crater. Holuhraun
Holuhraun () is a lava field just north of the Vatnajökull ice cap, in the Highlands of Iceland, Icelandic Highlands, in Suður-Þingeyjarsýsla, Northeastern Region (Iceland), Northeastern Region, Iceland. Vatnaöldur
Vatnaöldur () is the name of a series of craters in the Suðurland region of Iceland. They are located in the Highlands of Iceland, northwest of the Veiðivötn and northeast of Landmannalaugar, within the municipality of Rangárþing ytra. It is part of the East volcanic zone (EVZ). The craters were formed during a series of eruptions in the volcanic system of the Bárðarbunga around the year 870. Grímsvötn (; ''vötn'' = "waters", singular: ) is a volcano with a (partially subglacial) fissure system located in Vatnajökull National Park, Iceland. The volcano itself is completely subglacial and located under the northwestern side of the Vatnajökull ice cap. The subglacial caldera is at , at an elevation of . A fissure vent, also known as a volcanic fissure, eruption fissure or simply a fissure, is a linear volcanic vent through which lava erupts, usually without any explosive activity. The vent is often a few metres wide and may be many kilometres long. Fissure vents can cause large flood basalts which run first in lava channels and later in lava tubes. After some time, the eruption tends to become focused at one or more spatter cones. Small fissure vents may not be easily discernible from the air, but the crater rows (see Laki) or the canyons (see Eldgjá) built up by some of them are. Caldera
A caldera ( ) is a large cauldron-like hollow that forms shortly after the emptying of a magma chamber in a volcano eruption. When large volumes of magma are erupted over a short time, structural support for the rock above the magma chamber is gone. Þjórsá Lava
The Great Þjórsá Lava ( Icelandic: ''Þjórsárhraunið mikla'' ) is the largest lava flow in Iceland (by both area and volume) and the largest lava that is known to have erupted in a single eruption in the Holocene. Moment Magnitude Scale
The moment magnitude scale (MMS; denoted explicitly with or Mw, and generally implied with use of a single M for magnitude) is a measure of an earthquake's magnitude ("size" or strength) based on its seismic moment.
