Byfjorden (Rogaland)
Byfjorden is a fjord in Rogaland county, Norway. The long fjord runs through the municipalities of Randaberg and Stavanger. The fjord begins at the Tungenes Lighthouse at the northern end of the Stavanger Peninsula and it flows south along the east side of the peninsula to the city of Stavanger. The islands of Bru, Åmøy, Hundvåg, Buøy, Engøy, Sølyst, and Grasholmen lie along the east side of the fjord. The fjord connects to the Boknafjorden at the north end. Rogaland
Rogaland () is a county in Western Norway, bordering the North Sea to the west and the counties of Vestland to the north, Vestfold og Telemark to the east and Agder to the east and southeast. Hundvåg (island)
Hundvåg is an island in Stavanger municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The island is located in the borough of Hundvåg, just north of the centre of the city of Stavanger, separated by the Byfjorden. The island is relatively flat and very urbanized. There were 9803 residents of the island in 2014. There are some agricultural areas as well as a lot of industry. The small island of Buøy is connected to the south side of Hundvåg by a small man-made isthmus. Hundvåg Church is located on the island. Transportation Hundvåg is connected to the mainland by a series of bridges connecting the islands of Buøy to Engøy to Sølyst to Grasholmen and then over the Stavanger City Bridge to the mainland of the city. Byfjord Tunnel
The Byfjord Tunnel ( no, Byfjordtunnelen) is a subsea road tunnel in Rogaland county, Norway. The tunnel runs between the village of Grødem on the mainland in Randaberg municipality and the island of Sokn in Stavanger municipality, running underneath the Byfjorden. The tunnel was built as part of the Rennesøy Fixed Link project which opened in 1992 with the goal of connecting all the islands of Rennesøy to the mainland. Hundvåg Tunnel
The Hundvåg Tunnel ( no, Hundvågtunnelen) is a road tunnel in Stavanger municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The long tunnel is located on the Norwegian National Road 13 highway. The tunnel goes under the Byfjorden and it connects the mainland of the city of Stavanger and the island of Hundvåg. The tunnel is part of the Ryfast tunnel network that opened in 2019. Stavanger City Bridge
Stavanger City Bridge ( no, Stavanger bybru or just ''Bybrua'') is a cable-stayed bridge in the city of Stavanger which is in the large Stavanger Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The bridge has one tower and it was one of the first larger cable-stayed bridges in Norway when it opened on 31 January 1978. The bridge crosses the Straumsteinsundet strait connecting the city centre of Stavanger to the small islands of Grasholmen and Sølyst. Grasholmen is an island in Stavanger municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the Buøy neighborhood in the borough Hundvåg in the city of Stavanger, just north of the city centre. Engøy is an island in Stavanger municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the "neighborhood" of Buøy in the borough Hundvåg in the city of Stavanger, just north of the city centre. The island is almost completely urbanized with many houses on the east side and a lot of industry on the west side. There were 461 residents on the island in 2014. The island is connected to mainland of Stavanger via the Engøy Bridge, which connects Engøy to the islands Sølyst and Grasholmen, and by the Stavanger City Bridge which connects Sølyst and Grasholmen to the mainland. Buøy
Buøy is an island in the municipality of Stavanger in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Hundvåg in the city of Stavanger. The island was formerly separated from the island of Hundvåg by a small channel of water, but that was filled in. Buøy is connected to the mainland city of Stavanger by a series of bridges over three other islands and the Byfjorden. Buøy is also the name of an official neighborhood (''delområde'') of the city. The neighborhood has a population of 1,792 which is distributed over an area of including the islands of Buøy, Engøy, Sølyst, and Grasholmen. Åmøy
Åmøy is an island in Stavanger Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The island lies just north of the city of Stavanger in a group of islands. The islands of Sokn and Bru both lie to the west of Åmøy and the islands of Mosterøy and Rennesøy lie to the north, and the island of Hidle lies to the east. Geography The island is a long, narrow island with a very narrow isthmus in the middle. Historically, the island was divided between two municipalities. The western part of the island (''Vestre Åmøy'') was part of Rennesøy municipality and the eastern part (''Austre Åmøy'') was part of Stavanger municipality. Both halves of the island had their own chapel, Austre Åmøy Chapel and Vestre Åmøy Chapel. Boknafjorden
Boknafjord or Boknafjorden ( en, Bokna Fjord) is a fjord located in Rogaland county, Norway. The huge fjord lies between the cities of Stavanger and Haugesund and dominates the central part of the county. The main part of the fjord is shared between the municipalities of Kvitsøy, Stavanger, Tysvær, Bokn, and Karmøy. There are dozens of smaller fjords that branch off the main part of the fjord, reaching most municipalities in the county.
