Buwenge
Buwenge is a town in the Eastern Region of Uganda. It was proposed as the headquarters of Jinja District in 2009 when local district leaders were lobbying government to grant Jinja city status. However, when the district headquarters were relocated 10 years later, Kagoma, a smaller community in ''Buwenge sub-county'' was selected as the new district headquarters. Location The town is bordered by Luzinga to the northeast, Butamira to the southeast, Mabira to the south, Mawoto to the west and Kiroro to the north. Buwenge is situated on the ''Jinja–Kamuli–Mbulamuti Road'', approximately , by road, north of Jinja, the largest city in the Busoga sub-region. This is about , by road, south of the town of Kamuli. Buwenge General Hospital
Buwenge General Hospital, also Buwenge Hospital, is a hospital under construction in the Eastern Region of Uganda. Location Buwenge General Hospital would be located in the town of Buwenge, in Magamaga Parish, in Buwenge sub-county, Kagoma county, in Jinja District. This is approximately north of Jinja Regional Referral Hospital. This location lies about northwest of Mulago National Referral Hospital. Overview As far back as 2008, the Jinja District Administration began preparation for the construction of a general hospital in the district, with funds sourced from the government of China. When those plans collapsed, the Uganda Ministry of Health, allocated Sh17 billion for the construction of the hospital in Buwenge on , with the construction broken down in phases. Jinja–Kamuli–Mbulamuti Road
Jinja–Kamuli–Mbulamuti Road is a road in Eastern Uganda, connecting the towns of Jinja in Jinja District to Kamuli in Kamuli District. A spur of the road extends from Kamuli to Mbulamuti on the shores of the Victoria Nile. Location The road starts in Jinja, the largest town in Busoga sub-region. The road travels in a general northward direction through Buwenge, Nawanyago and Naminage, to end at Kamuli, approximately north of Jinja. Hospitals In Uganda
The largest state-owned hospital in Uganda is Mulago Hospital in Kampala with around 1,500 beds. It was built in 1962. Ian Clarke, a physician and missionary from Northern Ireland, built the 200-bed International Hospital Kampala, which was the first International Organization for Standardization-certified hospital in the country. The flag of Uganda ( Ugandan Languages: ''Bendera ya Uganda'') was adopted on 9 October 1962, the date that Uganda became independent from the British Empire. It consists of six equal horizontal bands of black (top), yellow, red, black, yellow, and red (bottom); a white disc is superimposed at the centre and depicts the national symbol, a grey crowned crane, facing the hoist's side. The Uganda Bureau of Statistics ("UBOS") is an agency of the Ugandan government. Formed by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics Act, 1998, the agency is mandated to "coordinate, monitor and supervise Uganda's National Statistical System". Busoga
Busoga ( Lusoga: Obwakyabazinga bwa Busoga) is a kingdom and one of four constitutional monarchies in present-day Uganda. The kingdom is a cultural institution which promotes popular participation and unity among the people of the region through development programs to improve their standard of living. Busoga strives for a united people who have economic, social and cultural prosperity and assists the Kyabazinga.
