The Butler Bulldogs women's basketball team represents Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Big East after moving from the Atlantic 10 following the 2012–2013 season. Big East Conference
The Big East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference that competes in NCAA Division I in ten men's sports and twelve women's sports. Headquartered in New York City, the eleven full-member schools are primarily located in Northeast and Midwest metropolitan areas. The conference was officially recognized as a Division I multi-sport conference on August 1, 2013, and since then conference members have won NCAA national championships in men's basketball, women's cross country, field hockey, men's lacrosse, and men's soccer. 2009 Women's National Invitation Tournament
The 2009 Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) was a single-elimination tournament of 48 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I teams that did not participate in the 2009 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament. It was won by South Florida. The 41st annual tournament was played from March 18, 2009 to April 4, 2009, entirely on campus sites. The highest ranked team in each conference that did not receive a bid to the NCAA Tournament received an automatic bid to this tournament. The remaining slots were filled by the WNIT Selection Committee. The South Florida Bulls beat the Kansas Jayhawks, 75–71, in the championship game to win the WNIT. This was the first postseason championship of any kind for the Bulls women's basketball team. Danielle McCray of Kansas scored 147 points during the tournament, a WNIT record that still stands. June Olkowski
June Olkowski (born November 3, 1960) is a former college basketball player and coach, who was head coach of the women's teams at the University of Arizona, Butler University, and Northwestern University. Olkowski, a 6'0" forward, attended St. Maria Goretti High School in Philadelphia. She played college basketball at Rutgers University, where, as a senior, she was a member of the 1982 team that won the final AIAW women's basketball tournament. Linda Mason is a cosmetician and artist. Early life Linda Mason was born on 13 September 1946 in Sunderland, northeast England. Her fascination for artistic expression was initially inspired by her mother, who was an artist. Mason started her career in the beauty industry by modeling for haute couture designers in Paris while studying cosmetology. Career Mason moved to Beirut to teach cosmetology and sell cosmetics for Lancôme. In the late 1970s, she returned to Paris and became the premier makeup artist for Helena Rubenstein.
