Bustamante Park
Bustamante Park is an urban park in Providencia, Santiago de Chile. It is built on the former site of ''Pirque railroad station'' and adjacent classification yard. The park is bounded by Providencia Avenue on the north, just south of Plaza Baquedano, and Marín Street on the south. Features Bustamante Park features bicykle paths, exercise equipment, a literary café, skatepark, monuments and water feature. In recent years a number of new cafés and restaurants have opened around the park. Bustamante Park has also become a popular location for outdoor entertainment, with the ''Providencia Theatre Festival'' held there annually. Line 5 of the Santiago Metro runs under the entire length of the park, stopping at Baquedano and Parque Bustamante metro stations. Manuel Rodríguez Erdoíza
Manuel Xavier Rodríguez Erdoíza (; February 27, 1785 – May 26, 1818) was a Chilean lawyer and guerrilla warfare, guerrilla leader, considered one of the founders of independent Chile. Rodríguez was of Basque people, Basque descent. Early life He was born on 27 February 1785 and was the son of Carlos Rodríguez de Herrera y Zeballos (1760-1822), a customs officer from Spain, and María Loreto de Erdoiza y Aguirre (1755-1822), who was a young lady aristocrat from Peru. Rodríguez entered the esteemed Convictorio Carolino, Carolino College where he was a classmate of José Miguel Carrera. He went on to study law at the Royal University of San Felipe, and subsequently became a lawyer in 1807. Santiago Metro
The Santiago Metro ( es, Metro de Santiago) is a rapid transit system serving the city of Santiago, the capital of Chile. It currently consists of seven lines (numbered 1-6 and 4A), 136 stations, and of revenue route. The system is managed by the state-owned Metro S.A. and is the first and only rapid transit system in the country. The Santiago Metro carries around 2.5 million passengers daily. This figure represents an increase of more than a million passengers per day compared to 2007, when the ambitious Transantiago project was launched, in which the metro plays an important role in the public transport system serving the city. A reflecting pool, also called a reflection pool, is a water feature found in gardens, parks, and memorial sites. It usually consists of a shallow pool of water, undisturbed by fountain jets, for a reflective surface. Germán Bannen Lay (25 May 1928−14 October 2019) was a Chilean people, Chilean engineer and politician. He was Urbanism National Prize in 2003. Bannen developed well part of his professional trajectory as an urban advisor for the Municipality of Providencia, Chile, Providencia, a middle-high class commune of Santiago, the capital city of Chile. Pirque () is a commune of Chile in Cordillera Province, Santiago Metropolitan Region; it is located 2.8 kilometers southeast of Puente Alto and 21.3 kilometers south-southeast of the center of Santiago. The Battle of Maipú ( es, Batalla de Maipú) was a battle fought near Santiago, Chile on April 5, 1818, between South American rebels and Spanish royalists, during the Chilean War of Independence.
