Nationale SIGINT Organisatie
The Nationale SIGINT Organisatie (NSO) was the Dutch signals intelligence (SIGINT) organisation, which was part of the Ministry of Defence, but worked for both the military intelligence and security agency MIVD as for its civilian counterpart AIVD. The NSO was established in 2003, in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks and became fully operational in 2007. Windlust, Burum
Windlust is a smock mill in Burum, Friesland, Netherlands which was built in 2014, replacing an earlier mill that had burnt down on 8 April 2012. History A windmill was recorded at Burum in 1578. The next mention of a mill at Burum was in 1711. This mill burnt down on 12 October 1785. In 1787 a new mill was built to replace it. Reinder Durks Hamming was the owner-miller from 1811 to 1832 and Harmannus Habbema was the owner-miller from c1860 until his death in 1881. Eelke de Kok of Buitenpost took the mill in 1888, working it until 1905 when his nephew Thijs Berends took over. In 1941 the mill was taken by J Bremer. The mill was restored in 1946, 1957, 1969 and 1975. In 1997, the mill was sold by the Bremers to the Gemeente Kollummerland. Grist Mill
A gristmill (also: grist mill, corn mill, flour mill, feed mill or feedmill) grinds cereal grain into flour and Wheat middlings, middlings. The early mills had horizontal paddle wheels, an arrangement which later became known as the "Water wheel#Vertical axis, Norse wheel", as many were found in Scandinavia. The paddle wheel was attached to a shaft which was, in turn, attached to the centre of the millstone called the "runner stone". Polder
A polder () is a low-lying tract of land that forms an artificial hydrological entity, enclosed by embankments known as dikes. The three types of polder are: # Land reclaimed from a body of water, such as a lake or the seabed # Flood plains separated from the sea or river by a dike # Marshes separated from the surrounding water by a dike and subsequently drained; these are also known as ''koogs'', especially in Germany The ground level in drained marshes subsides over time. All polders will eventually be below the surrounding water level some or all of the time. Water enters the low-lying polder through infiltration and water pressure of groundwater, or rainfall, or transport of water by rivers and canals.
