Burtola Assembly constituency was a Legislative Assembly constituency of Kolkata district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Overview As a consequence of the orders of the Delimitation Commission, Burtola Assembly constituency ceases to exist from 2011. It was part of Calcutta North East (Lok Sabha constituency). Members of the Legislative Assembly Results 1977-2006 Sadhan Pande representing Trinamool Congress won the 158 Burtolla assembly seat defeating Kalyan Mukherjee of RSP in 2006 and 2001. Ajit Kumar Panja
Ajit Kumar Panja (13 September 1936 – 14 November 2008) was a Union minister of state in the Government of India. He was a member of Indian National Congress party but left it to join Trinamool Congress. He was born in Calcutta, and studied law at the Scottish Church College, Calcutta and at the Lincoln's Inn. His Native village was a small village in Burdwan district, named Majigram. A lawyer by profession, he authored many books. He was also a stage actor who enacted the role of Ramakrishna Paramahansa in Kolkata. Life and career Ajit Kumar Panja was born in Kolkata on 13 September 1936. His father was Dhanapati Panja. The All India Forward Bloc ( AIFB) is a left-wing nationalist political party in India. It emerged as a faction within the Indian National Congress in 1939, led by Subhas Chandra Bose. Kisan Mazdoor Praja Party
The Kisan Mazdoor Praja Party (''Farmer Worker People's Party'') was a political party of India. Established in 1951, it merged with the Socialist Party to form the Praja Socialist Party in the following year. History In June, 1951 Indian National Congress dissidents led by Jivatram Kripalani founded the KMPP. Two of its leaders, Prafulla Chandra Ghosh and Tanguturi Prakasam, had been chief ministers of West Bengal and of Madras respectively. The All India Trinamool Congress (English: All India Grassroots Congress; AITC), colloquially the Trinamool Congress ( TMC) is an Indian political party which is predominantly active in West Bengal. The West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, 2001 was held in Indian state of West Bengal to elect 294 members of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. Results Left Front led by Communist Party of India (Marxist) won 196 seats, a majority. Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee was reelected as Chief Minister. Sadhan Pande
Sadhan Pande (13 November 1950 – 20 February 2022) was an Indian politician who served as Minister for Consumer Affairs & Self Help Group & Self-Employment, Government of West Bengal. He was also an MLA, elected from the Maniktala constituency in the 2011 West Bengal state assembly election. Previously, he was a Congress Leader and six times elected MLA from Burtola till 2011.
