Burnout (ride)
Burnout is a Chance Rides Trabant amusement ride at Funfields. It was originally located at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast from 1983 until 2012 where it was known as the ''Roulette'' and ''Stingray''. The ride was rethemed and relocated to Funfields in time for an opening on 23 November 2012. History Burnout opened in 1983 as the Roulette at Dreamworld. It was added alongside the Reef Diver (then known as the Enterprise) to expand Dreamworld's Country Fair themed area which opened in the previous year. Its original theme and colour scheme matched that of a Roulette wheel. When operating as the Roulette, the ride was located between where The Claw and Wipeout stand today. In 1993, the northern portion of Country Fair was rethemed to become Ocean Parade. The Vekoma Wakiki Wave Super Flip named Wipeout was added and the Roulette was rethemed to the Stingray and relocated to a portion on land on the southern side of the Wipeout. Ocean Parade (Dreamworld)
Ocean Parade is a themed land at the Dreamworld amusement park on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It features 3 of the ''Big 7 Thrill Rides'' at Dreamworld. The Claw, The Gold Coaster and Tail Spin. Are within close proximity of each other. Ocean Parade has an Australian beach culture theme, and has beach-themed rides scattered around the area. It currently provides a link between Main Street, DreamWorks Experience, and the adjacent water park WhiteWater World. Vekoma
Vekoma Rides Manufacturing is a Dutch amusement ride manufacturer. Vekoma is syllabic abbreviation of Veld Koning Machinefabriek (Veld Koning Machine Factory) which was established in 1926 by Hendrik op het Veld. History The company originally manufactured farm equipment and later made steel constructions for the coal mining industry in the 1950s. As business shifted from farming equipment to steel construction, Veld Koning Machinefabriek was shortened to Vekoma. After the closure of Dutch mines in 1965, Vekoma manufactured steel pipes for the petrochemical industry. In the 1970s Vekoma was contracted by U.S. amusement ride manufacturer Arrow Development to build the steel structure for its roller coasters in Europe. As demand increased, Arrow instructed Vekoma in track building techniques and eventually licensed its coaster-building technology. A Music Express is an amusement ride based on the original Caterpillar rides of Germany. Several near-identical ride designs are also produced by other companies: Musik Express by Italian company Bertazzon and US Majestic Rides, Himalaya by American company Wisdom Rides, German company Mack, and French company Reverchon, and Silver Streak by Wisdom Rides. This ride is a modern adaptation of the famous Harry Traver Caterpillar rides. Design and operation The ride features twenty 3-passenger cars connected in a circle. Kenny and Belinda's Dreamland is a themed area at the Dreamworld amusement park on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The Gold Coaster
The Gold Coaster is a steel roller coaster operating at Dreamworld. The roller coaster is one of the tallest in the Southern Hemisphere, after originally being the tallest when it was first built. Top Spin (ride)
The Top Spin is a thrill ride developed by HUSS Park Attractions and Mondial, and is the generic name for a series of rides from other manufacturers that follow the same principle. The ride consists of a passenger platform suspended between two counterweighted arms. The arms are turned by motors, while the platform typically only has brakes that are engaged and disengaged at various points of the ride cycle. A typical top spin program runs the main arm motors while engaging and disengaging the platform brakes so that it will rotate in exciting ways. The minimum rider height requirement is 54 inches; maximum is 80 inches due to the seat and restraint design. The Wipeout was a Vekoma Waikiki Wave Super Flip at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The opening of this ride in 1993 caused part of ''Country Fair'' to be rethemed to '' Ocean Parade''. History On 26 December 1993, Dreamworld opened its tenth themed area, Ocean Parade.
