Burlington High School is a high school located in Burlington, Kansas, United States, serving students in grades 9-12. The school is the westernmost building in the northern education complex on the outer edge of the city limits. It is the only high school in the Unified School District No. 244. The current principal is Jim Kuhn. The school mascot is the Wildcat and the school colors are red, gray, and black. History In 1996, a courtyard and gazebo in the center of the facility was enclosed and converted to computer technology labs. In 2005, an addition was made to the athletics portion of the campus by adding baseball and softball diamonds, so the team could play closer to the school. In 2007, an addition was made to the athletics portion of the campus by adding a wrestling room so the team could have a bigger facility to practice in. Yates Center is a city in and the county seat of Woodson County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 1,352. History Yates Center was founded in August 1875. It was named for Abner Yates, the original owner of the town site, who donated an entire block around the courthouse, land for the churches, a city park, and a lot each for the first two children born in the town. Wolf Creek Generating Station, a nuclear power plant located near Burlington, Kansas, occupies 9,818 acres (40 km²) of the total controlled by the owner. Wolf Creek, dammed to create Coffey County Lake (formerly Wolf Creek Lake), provides not only the name, but water for the condensers. The Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball program is the intercollegiate men's basketball program of the University of Kansas. Tyrel Reed (born April 8, 1989) is an American former basketball player who played for University of Kansas. He is the winningest player in KU Jayhawks history, with a combined record of 132–17 record in his four seasons at the University of Kansas.
